This creek property was probably used by the Creek and then the Cherokee as a campsite because of the abundant water and wild life. Later is was farm land and in the 1920's had approximately fifty mules working the land. The Old barn and blacksmith shop are still here. In 1977 the government planned to put a four lane toll road through here but was stopped by the oil embargo which caused the right of way to be auctioned. We were able to buy 200 acres for a small amount of money and have been raising cattle and camping on it every since that time. As a Scout Master I have been using this site for camping for the past 15 years. Time to let others enjoy. Learn more about this land: Pitch your tent or hammock in a grove of hardwood trees in a nice meadow on the banks of Lake Creek with old timey swimming hole. This campsite offers a peaceful retreat with plenty of space to unwind, close to nature. Many campers enjoyed the friendly visits from the local dog and the sounds of wildlife, making it a great spot for animal lovers. However, some visitors noted that the porta potty needs attention and the campsite can be tricky to find after dark. Despite these issues, the majority of reviews highlighted the site's privacy, natural beauty, and the relaxing sound of the creek.

No toilet, careless host
Tent
The porta potty was completely trashed and unusable. It looked like no one had touched it in decades. All the firewood was wet as well, despite having a convenient covered area not five feet away. Also the host did not respond to any of my messages asking important questions. No effort at all was made to prepare the site, and the site is difficult to find after dark, though maybe that was our fault for arriving later than planned.

Great, quiet spot on a creek. We had to leave early since my son got sick, but I'd go again.

Great camping spot
Tent · Group trip
Great place to get away and relax. Don’t feel like you’re as close to civilization as you actually are. Creek was really relaxing and plenty of room around for the whole family to enjoy and have fun. And like everyone else said the local dog was super sweet and friendly and came and checked on us everyday haha

Good enough but could be great with
Liked it but has a few drawbacks. Good level site #1 with several spots for tents or CamperVans. Great to have area nearby with roof over table and large grill/cooking pit. Site #2 is not as good but has several tent sites. #2 fire pit is smaller. Both are near Lake Creek which is a very nice setting. Drawbacks - Porta Potty is horrible. Needs to be upgraded, or demolished and rebuilt. Short distance through field could be rutted and muddy if recent rains. It was fine for us. See photo. Also no prepared firewood but lots of downed and dead wood in area. Bring a saw. Large debris pile next to site #2 should be removed or burned. A little tricky to find after dark. Poor cell coverage as advertised. Could hear cars traveling down nearby paved road but not obnoxious. We would go back and bring our own portable toilet. Host was enjoyable and lives near by but not invasively.
