Dog-friendly camping in Georgia guide

Overview

Georgia is packed with natural beauty, from rolling Appalachian mountains to deep canyons, rushing rivers, and warm Atlantic beaches. No matter where you choose to explore, chances are you can bring your dog along for the journey. All Georgia state parks allow dogs, including popular destinations like Stone Mountain, Tybee Island, and Amicalola Falls. Best of all, campgrounds rarely require additional fees if you choose to bring your pets. Some state parks even have dog-friendly cabins available for rent, including those in Cloudland Canyon, Sweetwater Creek, and Black Rock Mountain. Be sure to follow pet rules whether staying in a public park or at a private pet-friendly campsite, as some areas require that dogs stay on leash and off trails. Some parks have restrictions in place to protect wildlife, so check local guidelines.
