Needs a new tent

With kids

The stream was very peaceful and the toilet/shower were well taken care of. The tent itself had mold stains and leaked when it rained. I wouldn’t stay here again unless they decided to get a new canvas tent.

AMAZING

I loved staying here. The yurt was so comfortable and Gary was so sweet. He was so kind and showed us everything. It was so cool stay here. And I will absolutely recommend this place to anyone looking for an escape! Next time I’m gonna try the breakfasts. Didn’t have time to this time but they look amazing and I would love to try them all! Overall I rate this place a 10/10 and I can’t wait to come back soon!!!!!

Glamping retreat

This camp had a great glamping set up with a bed, electricity, an outhouse and shower, and a cozy area to hang out around the fire. There was a nice trail by the creek to explore too. We also tried the breakfast and it was a delicious add on that was great to have after a couple of days on the road. I do want to note that the gravel driveway you park in is at a slant, which was difficult for our camper van to pull out of, but a normal sized vehicle or all wheel drive vehicle should be fine.

Charming stay and delectable dining

I had such a serene experience staying at Gary’s Yurt. It was very charming and he was accommodating for a variety of our needs. The complimentary bottle of wine was a nice touch and the breakfast he cooks is worth way more than what you’re paying for. He is an excellent chef and also a very interesting and engaging person to talk to. He has plenty of stories so if you’re feeling social, he provides excellent company. Thanks again Gary and I’m looking forward to visiting again😊.

The site is cute and idyllic on the host's property. It's close to Helen and to good hiking trails, but is also just far enough away to give you space from town if you want it. Gary clearly likes to host and is good at it. Breakfast was wonderful-- he actually went to culinary school and took care crafting a unique menu.

Cozy Backyard Escape

Absolutely loved my recent Hipcamp experience! The hosts were warm and welcoming, and the site itself was incredibly well-maintained, with everything you need for a comfortable, enjoyable camping stay. The spot is perfect for anyone looking to relax and enjoy a bit of nature without going too far off the grid. While the setting is in someone’s backyard, it still felt peaceful and cozy. There were some occasional barks from owners dogs, but honestly, it added to the homey feel of the place. Overall, it’s a fantastic place to camp with the added convenience of being close to amenities—a hidden gem for anyone looking to enjoy the outdoors without going deep into the wilderness!
