Trails End at Windsweep Farm is a small horse and mule farm just east of Thomaston, Ga, where the air is clean, the nights are quiet and the stars are bright.
Trails End is a great base camp for the local activities. Check out the daredevil in you with Sky Dive Atlanta 4 miles away or take a relaxing kayak trip down the beautiful Flint River. You can also go for a picnic lunch at the Historic Auchumpkee Covered Bridge in Culloden or the Red Oak Covered Bridge in Woodbury. Whether you are traveling North to Atlanta or south towards Macon Trails End is an amazing place to rest.
A delightful experience. The farm itself is a charming haven where horses and mules roam, and the clean air, quiet nights, and bright stars create a peaceful, almost magical atmosphere. The decor can best be described as Martha Stewart meets country chic—absolutely beautiful and very welcoming. I highly recommend it to anyone traveling through Georgia or looking for a peaceful getaway.
This farm is really nice. I visited in my Ford Transit campervan and a huge 10-person tent. I bought some fresh eggs from her and made omelets. I parked under the tree and had enough shade for my van and tent. She also provided me an electric cord so I could charge my things and use my projector. The hosts are very friendly and accommodating. I am sure I will visit again, soon.
Susan has a beautiful piece of property! The sun sets just over the hill and it’s so peaceful and restful there! The studio apartment was perfect for me. Since I am a horse person, I had the place pictured in my mind before I got there, but it far exceeded my expectations! I had no idea a space like that could be so comfortable, cozy and livable. It was clean. The shower was hot. I had coffee fixin’s and heard birds singing while I sipped my coffee in the aisle of the barn. My host and some of her friends were going trail riding the next morning so I got to watch them get the horses groomed and saddled. That was an extra special treat.
