Schweitzer Base Camp is a 6 acre property that is near Sandpoint but feels entirely remote! Someone once told me that you can measure the distance from town in steps rather than miles because it gets remote so quickly and that's entirely true here! Being a 10 minute drive outside of town makes this property feel remote but be close enough to town to grab essentials. The 6 acres include forested areas, meadow areas, and borders on a creek on the southwest side of the property. The property is shared by the Woodland Fairy Cottage and the Creekside Lodge (an Airbnb property).Come relax and rejuvenate at Woodland Fairy Cottage! Nestled in the woods at the base of Schweitzer mountain just outside picturesque Sandpoint, Idaho, you won't find a more unique stay! Become one with nature on this 6 acre property with a private outdoor shower, a creek, walking trails, a private outdoor seating area and fire table all nestled in the gorgeous Idaho woods! Only 7 minutes to the Schweitzer Mountain resort shuttle, 10 minutes to Sandpoint, or 40 minutes to Silverwood Theme Park.
The outdoor shower is available during warmer months (typically May to October) but depends on the snow load in spring and first freeze in the late fall.
The cottage sleeps 4 (2 in a queen bed, 1 in a twin loft bed, 1 on the built-in window seat daybed). Up to 4 additional guests may stay on the property (for a total of 8) in tents, a camper, etc. An additional charge of $15/person above 4 guests is required to accommodate the additional load on the outhouse, shower, etc.

Inclusion policyWe have a zero-tolerance policy against discrimination at Hipcamp. We are committed to helping our Host and Hipcamper communities be inclusive.
Very cozy spot to overnight. It was rather cool outside, and the nice wood stove was fantastic for warming us up. Instructions inside were very clear, and the place was immaculate. Bed and bedding very comfortable. Our first hip-camp clamping experience, and we give it 4 paws up. Our puppies very happy there. You'll have a nice evening and morning there. There is train noise but the hosts have gone above and beyond to mitigate it, with a white noise machine and ear plugs. I don't think it will bother you.

Proximity to Sandpoint. I would recommend summer so that you can really take advantage of the outdoor table and shower facilities. We did get great walks in but needed more table space for games and such- which being able to extend the living space to the outdoors would be heaven.
