Great piece of secluded land with a cool fire pit and some great walking trails. Chairs and fire tools available. We have 62 acres in total, with a homemade suspension bridge, a tree house, chickens, goats, and a friendly dog. A small spring-fed stream runs right by camp. Plenty of nature to see and enjoy out here.The Moto Camper is a cozy little trailer conversion in the middle of a 62 acre old-growth oak forest. It is equipped with 2 twin beds, a heater, refrigerator, microwave, air fryer, and a smart TV if you can find an internet connection for it. There is no running water in the Moto Camper, but a 3 gallon jug of potable water will be provided. The property has an outhouse, and an outdoor shower. Linens, pillows, and blankets are provided, and all the usual amenities of a camper are included - utensils, plates, cups, paper towels, etc. There is a large fire pit on the property with plenty of wood to burn. Enjoy your stay!

So good we stayed an extra day!

This spot has the most relaxing natural vibe ever :) We felt so well-rested and happy staying here (even our roadtripping kitty felt that way!) that we extended our stay so as to enjoy the place more fully. One highlight of our second day was the hot outdoor shower (with curtains for privacy, but open at the top with a view of the trees, making it a truly indoor-outdoor experience). My daughter also loved meeting the friendly goats, chickens, one of the cats, and the Great Pyrenees dog (who is so totally adorable). If we’re ever in the area again, we’ll be sure to stay for a longer stretch of time (there were trails we didn’t have an opportunity to explore, even with our extra day)!

A hidden gem

We loved staying here so much! It’s a wonderfully secluded place, straightforward to find (I downloaded an offline map just in case) and easy to park our camper van (plus little trailer) in the turnaround spot. Jeremy is such a chill host, taking care that we had plenty of water and firewood, as well as anything else we needed. He was prompt, attentive and responsive throughout our stay. We had a feeling of complete privacy, and also felt really welcome there (treated like old friends when we met Jeremy)! He’s created some lovely trails through the woods, where we enjoyed seeing various wildlife too :) Our favorite Hipcamp by far (on a 4K mile trip)!

We stayed in the Moto Camper on Jeremy's land. It was our first Hipcamp experience and we loved it. There is a small stream meandering through the site. The camper is comfortable, clean and nicely built out. Jeremy set a table with a big jug of water, a camp stove and a lantern right outside the door of the camper. He even lit the lantern so when we got in after dark we could see, nice touch! The outhouse is convenient and he is adding an outdoor shower. Jeremy has goats, chickens and Wally (the sweetest dog you've ever met!). We sat in Jeremy's hay field to watch the eclipse! That was the cherry on top!

We LOVED our stay at Backer Half Hundred Acres! We were in town for the eclipse. It was cold, and rainy… and none of that mattered. We loved every second of the ur stay. Jeremy is super friendly and accommodating. There are so many options on property for camp sites, fires, and the animals are super friendly too. We will be back.
