Poplar Gardens is 5 years in to development as a self-sustaining vegan food system. We have one glamping site for rent.Enjoy a camping experience in a tucked away spot. Listen to the hidden creek as you sit around your campfire. Stay alert for bobcats and coyotes... maybe even bears. Head out to raft on the Nolichucky, hike to the Lost Cove, hike the Appalachian Trail to Beauty Spot or just take it easy on our land.  If you ask and we’re available we‘ll give you a tour of the gardens. This is a tucked away site with no electricity. It does have: - High-speed internet - Metal fire-pit for safe, outdoor fires - Picnic table - Hose for non-potable water and access to a faucet away from the camp site to fill jugs. - Really cool people nearby, but out-of-sight, to answer questions Low wheel-base vehicles can drive close, but need to stop about 50' away from the camping site. High wheel-base vehicles can drive right up to the site. Note that cabin photos reflect a work-in progress. Photos will be updated when the renovation is fully done. Work will be completed by August 1st. Please don't book it before that - even though this system will let you try.

I camped at Julia’s property for 4 nights with my daughter, and it was a beautiful experience! The week flew by. We loved exploring the property, enjoying walks amongst the trees up and down the nearby quiet road, accompanied by the blissful sounds of all the summer bugs in the evenings and the nearby running stream. We all got together to sit around the campfire under the Perseid’s meteor shower a few nights and shared many stories and laughs. The week was effortlessly packed with something to see and do, and we slept GREAT each night with the soothing nature sounds. There is undeniable magic here, do yourself a favor and don’t miss out on an opportunity to experience it yourself!

Being at one with nature....
21 ft RV · Group trip
Julia's property is beautiful and peaceful. She is preparing two additional sites that will be outstanding (I will go back). Julia is a great steward of the land and grows a lot of her own food. There are walking and hiking trails. The property is wonderful for meditation and recuperation from this hectic world. A note to anyone who doesn't understand mountains.....there are lots of areas without cell service. Depending on where you drive from It's best to save a mop on your device to refer to.....or you may get lost. Call Julia ahead of time and she will guide you. You'll love the host.
