The farm is currently off grid and operates on sunshine and mountain air. It has gone through many changes from boarding horses to pigs and cattle to organic produce. I am currently terracing for added crop land and setting up for gravity fed irrigation for the crops. My home is run on solar and wind battery bank with primitive amenities. Educational tours by appointment. The children grown and the farm lacking the sounds of youth is going through another change. Opening to campers and hikers. We are a short 7 miles form the terminus of the Virginia Creeper trail in White Top Virginia. There is not vehicle access today but we are working on that. Learn more about this land: Rose Mountain farm is an organic veggie and livestock farm. All campers must be able to walk in a half mile due to rough terrain. We are going through a lot of changes in structure. Terracing part of the south facing land to add crop land, catching springs for gravity water tanks for irrigation. Growing greens under high tunnel in the fall and spring. Campers are encouraged to do work trade for camping space in addition to the small site fee. We will offer produce trade to work traders. We are off grid and solar/ wind powered in the farm house. We are adding intern spaces that will also be solar and passive solar powered. The farm is moving towards becoming an educational space for young energetic minds to learn and grow. There will be more information posted as we evolve. We do have a trout stream that joins the property and you can swim in the creek. The camp spaces are wooded and spread around the farm. There is gravity spring water in several locations.  Pit potty/ your shovel and a newly added porta potty at the parking lot. We have bamboo fishing poles and  bikes to loan for rides to town 5 miles away.Rose Mountain farm is an organic tomato and honey farm.
