Pros where I was lucky to arrive early and find a location away from everyone else as most people camped very close to each other in one open area with nice green grass for my puppies to play fetch. There was a lovely walking track running along a river but very shallow so no option to swim. The property managers were very fast to reply to my booking request and other messages that I sent them.
Cons to get away from everyone else the track was super step so you would need a 4x4 and off road caravan to get in and out, this is a working cattle farm so teh cows come very close to your camping area and teh sound of the cows screaming was horrifying to me and my puppies it was very unsettling so we left for the day as i was impossible to sit back and relax it sounded like there were giving birth it was something I have never heard before. The grass was mowed apart from around teh fire pits which was about 3 foot high so that was a bit annoying I ended up just pulling out the grass myself and lastly every time you enter or leave you have to put in a code to a pad lock open and close and padlock to stop other people free camping which is a bit annoying. I found another camping area when I went for a walk which would have been much more suitable for me & my puppies and away from the screaming cows but the managers of the property that meet you on arrival did not offer this area to me which was disappointing as I did request a space away from everyone else.
Excellent, well maintained camp sites, privately spread out, bins + drop toilets.
A lovely signposted 2km walk along Amamoor Creek, swimholes along the way.
Exceptional service from hosts Sarah & Chris.
We will be back!
We had a fantastic time at Bunya Grove. Sarah was an excellent host! The spot and amenities were clean, and well looked after. The walk to the farm shop on Saturday morning was amazing. So much wildlife and views that rivalled the best hikes on the Sunshine Coast. The coffee was delicious, as was the bacon and eggs. Our spot was quiet and perfect. The kids loved it and we saw some incredible wildlife - kingfishers, wallabies, baby turtles, eels, frogs, and kookaburras. We were all sad to leave.
