Welcome to Canecutter's Rest, a charming small hobby farm located in the scenic suburb of Rosemount on the beautiful Sunshine Coast. Our peaceful retreat is situated just 10km away from the pristine Mudjimba Beach and a convenient 4km from Nambour.
Experience the tranquility of our unpowered campsites along the picturesque Petrie Creek, offering opportunities for fishing, kayaking, and other water activities. Immerse yourself in the natural beauty of the creek as you indulge in your favorite pastimes.
Spread across 14 acres, our farm is home to a delightful array of animals including cows, sheep, pigs, chickens, and ducks. Feel free to interact with and feed our friendly animals, truly immersing yourself in the joys of nature.
Camping at Canecutters Rest offers a blend of seclusion and nature, with sites that provide ample space and stunning creek views. While the creek and surrounding nature are highlights, accessing the sites can be challenging, especially after rain, often requiring a 4x4. Visitors enjoy the peacefulness and the opportunity for water activities, though some note the grass can be long and the firewood provided isn't ideal for cooking. The site is conveniently close to local towns, offering a balance between wilderness and accessibility.
Great secluded site by the creek, a really great spot. A 4x4 is needed for the farm track to the camp sites though and the free firewood provided was old scrap wood with paint on it so we didn’t end up using it as we had planned to cook on the fire.
Camping at Canecutters Rest was fantastic! We have 4x sets of couples and we fit in site 1 perfectly. We were keen on going in the creek and stand-up paddle boarding but it looks like you could only get there from site 3. We do wish we got to see the animals a bit more as the gross was very overgrown on all the paddocks but we got to see them when driving in and out of the property. Note, the sites we mowed and flat. Site 2 and 3 looks like it had adequate shade with a big tree however site 1 didn’t have any trees around. The sunsets were stunning and we were quite far away from everyone which was good as we didn’t feel like we were having to be super quiet. Overall really great spot and not far from Nambour and Bli Bli villages so it was the perfect spot for a 2 night getaway over the weekend.
Great for a stopover. Kayaks and paddle boards available for use. Entry through the gate was a bit difficult due to mud and tall grass. Great cell service and location. Not much to see or do
