Our names are Chris and Christine. We recently moved to Gundiah Qld and acquired a beautiful piece of land (approx. 320 acres) with about 70 acres of picturesque camping located on the Mary River. Our property is located halfway between Gympie and Maryborough (approx. 20 minutes from the Bruce Highway) tucked away down a private road which is lovely and peaceful. We have some walking trails located on the Camp Grounds to take in the scenery, or for the more adventurous located behind the office are longer walking trails with spectacular views at the top. There is a bike track and playground with Mini Putt Putt to keep the kids amused! Currently an RC track in the making for the remote 4WD enthusiasts. Easy access to the Mary River if you would like a spot of fishing, swimming or kayaking. Keep your eye out for the platypus and Mary River Turtles. We also have fire pits available at most sites with plenty of free firewood to collect around the property. Your fury friends are more than welcome but for the safety of them and others must be on a lead at all times. We are located about 50 minutes from Gympie, an hour 15 minutes from Rainbow Beach and or Hervey Bay and 45 minutes from Maryborough. The town of Tiaro is only 15 minutes down the road which has a Foodworks, Pub, United Fuel and Cafe. Don't forget the local Gundy Pub is only 5 minutes down the road. Great atmosphere and meals "tell them we sent you". Gundy Getaway is the perfect place to get back to basics and enjoy the peace and serenity.

Peaceful and quiet. Plenty of room. We had no internet reception, but a break from that is great.

Loved our peaceful getaway weekend at Gundy Getaway. The stars were absolutely amazing. Chris and Christine were excellent hosts and we were well looked after with firewood and clean toilets.

Just spent the weekend at this campground, and what a great spot, Chris & Christine were great hosts. The camp area was well maintained, and had easy access to walk down to the banks of the Mary River. Picturesque spot, would recommend and look forward to going back

Aussie Day Long Weekend
Tent ·
We had a great time with family and friends on the Australia day long weekend. Chris the owner came and checked in on us and gave us some info regarding the toad races being held at the local Gundy Pub and live entertainment if we want to venture out for the day Aussie Day. Could not complain about the grounds they were kept lovely, porty loo's dotted throughout so not a problem for campers who don't have their own dunny and also hot showers. Firewood and Recycle bins (Bottles & Cans) were on the property but you needed to take all other rubbish with you. The Mary River was running quite fast after resent rain, it was a steep descent to get down to the river, but it didn't stop us from having a dip take your blow up floaties or innertube (life jackets for kids recommended) to float down to Emery's Bridge well worth it. We had a visit from the local cattle who are quite friendly, and the bull came up for a head scratch which was great. Local goannas came out of the bush to pay us a visit too. Overall, the campground is great for all types of camping. You have enough room between your closest neighbours. Thank you, Chris and Christine for a great weekend We will definitely be back loved the peace and quiet.
