Standown Park Campsite offers a serene retreat with a strong emphasis on peace and privacy. The spacious sites, lush lawns, and well-maintained amenities like the pool and camp kitchen make it a favorite among campers. The presence of wildlife, such as kangaroos, adds to the natural charm, while the friendly staff and communal areas enhance the welcoming atmosphere. However, occasional issues like muddy grounds and temporary water outages have been noted.

Unpowered camping in Area A

NB. Not sure why the guidelines above are telling me I've left a low rating. My rating for Standown Park Campsite is 5-stars. I was in Area A, not Site 51 which was stated on my booking confirmation from Hipcamp, and not Site 71 which is noted here in the Hipcamp review blurb. I was free to stay anywhere in Area A which I had virtually to myself so I chose a different section for each day. I loved the openness of this area with plenty of trees offering shade if preferred. The pool, laundry, washing line and shower/toilet block were close by. I had easy access to the camp kitchen and rubbish bins. The camp appeared to be clean, tidy and well-looked after. Kangaroos grazed in Area A in the early mornings.

Lovely campground! We’ll definitely be back. The pool looked great, though we didn’t get a chance to swim because it was quite busy with kids jumping in.

Great amenities. Lovely lush lawn, so no need for mats and the pool was fantastic. Easy 1/2hr drive to Rainbow beach and 20mins to Woolies at Cooloola for top ups. Great spot! We’ll definitely be back.

It was a great spot for our little one’s first camping trip and made simpler with all the amenities available. We all had great time.
