Located in the vermillion hills of South Dakota. This property has plenty of wildlife and places to let your hair down and run. We were a former feedlot that is currently under renovations to becoming an equine center. Currently has horses, chickens, and baby calves. Come experience a bit of farm life without all the work! Learn more about this land: We are in the process starting an equine center so what you see may depend on our progress. Currently we have horses, chickens, and 2 bottle calves. :) The arena and round pen are up and ready for use if you are interested!  We are willing to try to accommodate your needs. Please don't hesitate to ask. Please be aware this is a working farm so we may not be on site at all times. Camping at Sarah's Vermillion Hills Peaceful Getaway is a delightful experience enriched by the warmth and hospitality of Sarah and her family. Guests consistently mention the welcoming atmosphere, ample space, and the joy of interacting with the friendly animals on the property. The facilities, including a hot shower, laundry, and a zip line, add extra convenience and entertainment, making it an ideal stop for families and solo travelers alike. However, be prepared for the rustic charm of farm life, which sometimes comes with typical farm scents.

Sarah was very welcoming and helpful. She is an awesome host and I'm grateful she shared her space with us. Her property is absolutely beautiful! I wish we could have stayed more than just one night.

Beautiful Property

We arrived late and left early, had a quick stop to sleep. The host met with us on arrival, she was very welcoming. Lots of space to park. The drive from I-90 to her property was beautiful, sunset and sunrise. It would have been nice to stay longer and see the animals, but our travel plans didn’t allow for it. Overall great stop!

One of my fav sites, ever.
Tent
I’ve been using Hipcamp for a very long time, and stayed at sites all across the country. For the price, this is definitely one of the best sites in the US!!! I actually stayed here a few years ago, loved it, and rebooked on my most recent cross country trip. They obviously put a lot of care into their land, and are a really really cool family. Get ready for really adorable animals, kind hosts, and the surprising beauty of South Dakota. There is little to no traffic on their road, a clean bathroom, laundry, a zipline (!!!), and plenty of space. Can’t ask for much more. Will def rebook if I ever trek across the states again :)
