About

Call on the simple life of spectating and come to Split Rock Creek State Park. Life on the prairie can be mighty fine. Especially if you visit near summers end when the expanse is lit in colorful wildflowers and ethereal grasses. Home to the largest lake in Pipestone County, this park was literally created for your recreational enjoyment.

Adjacent to the lake you’ll find campsites, shady and suitable for all types of camping. Do yourselves a favor and venture off 7 miles north to Pipestone National Monument. Generation after generation, the pipestone at this monument was quarried by Native Americans to make pipes. It is believed that a pipe carved from this area carries it’s smoke to the Great Spirit.
