Sixteen-acre cedar forest and in the middle is a big (2 to 3 acre) cedar glade and RIGHT OFF (~3 miles) INTERSTATE - 40 East of Nashville. There is a 0ne mile walking trail around the site. In the middle of the property there is an opening with flat rock/soil surrounded by forest. Cedar glade plants are in bloom spring, summer and fall and the Nashville Bread root blooms beautiful in April and May. The forest is about 60-80 years old and has plants that grow here that don't grow anywhere else in the world. It is one of the reasons why Tennessee is one of the most biologically diverse inland states in the US.

Two options:
1) bring your camper right off the interstate, stay a night or more! We can accommodate large campers and RVs. This site is closer to the front of the property and in view of the house. No litter removal (there is a 55-gallon cart by the Mt Juliet Yacht Club). But still a beautiful view of the enchanted cedar glade! Enjoy an evening stroll to burn off the drive stress and get some rest to go another day. Plenty of firewood, no hookups or dump site. You may hear the interstate, and a shot or two from the neighbors.
Potable water is available at the house, but No water or electric on site.
2) Pack (or drive) it in, pack it out! No litter removal (there is a 55-gallon cart by the Mt Juliet Yacht Club), this is a primitive site. Open cedar glade area surrounded by a 15-acre forest, plants endemic to Middle Tennessee. There is a 1-mile loop trail winding through the Cedar Forest.
Pitch a tent or back in your pop up! Larger campers possible, but it will be tight! Potable water is available at the house, but No water or electric on site. Short distance off I-40. You may hear the interstate, and a shot or two from the neighbors.
Mostly, you'll enjoy being in the Enchanted Cedar Glade.
We used Hipcamp for the first time with John! It was a great experience, from the amazing host to the beautiful scenery of the site. We may have to book again!
Great spot and John was very helpful. We pulled in late, after dark and John still met us outside and suggested a place for the night. He’s very friendly and offered to help us early the next morning as well.
We had the best time!!! A few friends and I camped here for the weekend while attending a Spartan race nearby. I can't recommend enough! John was a fantastic host and an experienced camper himself - He was kind enough to help us get a fire started, and shared a few helpful tricks for keeping it going. He also brought us a fire bucket for added safety, and was accommodating to anything we needed. We had a wonderful conversation and time! The site itself had plenty of available firewood and was a private little oasis tucked away on the property. There were plenty of places to set up the site and hang our hammocks, and even had a small trail to walk nearby. It was the perfect weekend getaway! We absolutely could not recommend more!
Exactly as described. Host was immediately responsive and this was very convenient for us on short notice traveling on I40. Perfect for a quick self-contained pullout. Really appreciate the option.
Johns place is wonderful. The plot of land is comfortable and filled with delicious smells and ripe wood. John’s a kind and energetic fellow himself. I’d recommend this spot if you’re looking for something near Nashville!
