The Navasota River Ranch is a 600 ac parcel of land bounded by more than a mile of the Navasota River on its west side and two tributary creeks on its north and southeast sides. The river bottom is wild and untamed, while the rest is rolling hills reminiscent of the prairie that once greeted settlers. Nearby is Bryan-College Station home of Texas A&M University To the west on Hwy 105 is Washington on the Brazos State Park. This is the location where delegates gathered to hastily draw up a declaration of independence before joining the Runaway Scrape to avoid capture and execution by the advancing Mexican Army. Farther down the road is the famous Blue Bell creamery in Brenham. The tour and ice cream are well worth the trip. On the property are miles of Jeep trails excellent for off road and 4WD vehicles. Guests might prefer hiking along these trails or strike out on foot trails and game trails. Thanks to the hunters who have come for the deer and feral hogs over the years there are numerous observation structures for viewing wildlife up close, or just enjoying the solitude of the deep woods. Three ponds offer bass and perch fishing from the bank or bring your own boat. And then there is the Navasota River...

Beautiful private texas camping
An amazing experience. Williams land is breathtaking and remote. There is so much nature and the forest come alive at night. William was very accommodating, kind and explained to us everything we needed to know to enjoy our stay to the fullest at the camp. I will definitely be going back and we'll recommend to everyone I know looking for the perfect getaway.

Our family had the most amazing New Year’s getaway at Murphy’s River Camp! The setting was absolutely breathtaking, with incredible views that made every moment feel magical. The kids had a blast playing by the river—it was the perfect spot for them to explore and enjoy nature safely. The peaceful atmosphere and natural beauty of the camp made it an unforgettable experience. We couldn’t have asked for a better way to start the year. Highly recommend this gem to anyone looking for a family-friendly, scenic retreat!

Hidden Gem!
Great property!! Each camp site has its own character and theme to it, there is always something new to discover! My son and I enjoyed exploring, fishing, kayaking and riding the trails. The host William is very accommodating and there is tons of space and privacy between campsites. We can’t wait to come back in the spring!

We love camping just nature around us. We took our three small grandchildren and had fun. This is a place for off grid star gazing and listening to the coyotes. Perfect for us. Lots of trails to hike around and ponds to fish in. I would suggest to go when rain isn’t expected because the roads can get slick. Close enough to Navasota Burger King for rainy day play.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! Awesome camping sites. William is a respectable and professional host. Made sure we had the spot we wanted and we had some great fishing and good times. We will definitely be back for more stays. These campsites are on privately owned land. Communicate honestly and respectfully and you will have no issues. We had a great time and look forward to more stays in the future! Thanks again for making your land available for us to enjoy, the beaver moon was incredible to see.
