While the view was beautiful and sites were clean. We didn't know there would be a train going by 2-3x all night blowing the horn. The host was super friendly and kid. Hot showers and toilets was a plus for us.

Great option to traditional camping
OMG what a treasure to find. The campground was so cute. Close enough to town that we could walk and explore. Camping on the river was great. Easy access to fishing. Even though we were in town it felt like we were at a regular campground. The bath house was great. We loved having the option to cook on a stove and take hot showers. We are already planning to come back next season on an actual vacation

What a cute place to unwind. Tim was an absolute perfect host. So pleasant and helpful. The bathhouse was equipped w everything you need to "rough" it. The campground is new and extremely well maintained. There is rafts available for river rafting. I will definitely be back . Thank you Tim

Not all bad
With pets
The manager was very friendly and hospitable. The river is pretty. The bathhiuse is nice. We rented the cabooze. Its very small and the metal stairs are kind of an accident waiting to happen in the dark. We had no odea it would be made with gaps between the floors and walls. The air mattress would not stay inflated. It's kind of like camping in a city park with the neighborhood watching you. We appreciate that we could take our dogs but this area should be marketed more for day trips. There were locals camping out further down the river blasting music and a chainsaw after 10pm a lot very loudly. That's not the campgrounds fault. But it is very odd to say the least. The caboose had a hornets nest on the outside window too. That's understandable since it's outdoors. It stays cool right there b/c the river runs swift. So, there's no issues with getting overheated. I'd recommit if you bring your own pop-up or pool behind camper. Folks in this area are generally kind and respectful. We think our not so great experience was likely a one time thing. We'd recommend the campground just use the caboose as a photo op. It's cute and cool to look at.

Loved the Caboose
I loved camping in the Caboose at Riverhouse Campground. Timothy was a wonderful host. The area was clean, well maintained, and right next to the Cheat River. Very quiet. The train rode by a few times each day, but added to the experience. The Bath House and Lounge were clean, well stocked, and private. Just an FYI...This Campground is not deep in the woods so you can see neighbors and the road.
