100% of recent Hipcampers say this Hipcamp felt private.
My husband and I work and live in Africa during the school year.  We have 3 young boys and wanted them to be able to have a large place to explore and play, and learn to camp and enjoy nature.  We purchased this cabin in 2021 from the original owners who built the home.  We fell in love with the design of the cabin and the windows which allow great views of the river and wildlife.   There is an Artesian well that is 200 feet deep in the granite ledge that the cabin sits on. Artesian wells are more common in sand and very uncommon in granite. This well provides some of the best water you’ll ever taste. The cabin has total privacy with no neighbors on either side. There are a couple cabins across the river and just north of the cabin that are visible when at the river's edge. The total acreage is approximately 6.5 with 300 feet of river frontage. The cabin is set back from the river, yet maintains a view of the river. At the river’s edge there is a picnic area deck with table and chairs. The land is wooded with a mix of small pine, some large pine old growth and hardwood. There are walking paths throughout the wooded lot. There are no houses on either side of the lot. It is not uncommon to see a lot of wildlife. There are many deer, grouse, eagles that nest just up the river, and an occasional bear. The 6.5 acres that the cabin sits on abuts 1500 acres of undeveloped land.Summer 2022 booking now!  We have a 7 night minimum with Sunday Check-ins June 12th through the end of September.   If you have any questions, please reach out to us through the messaging system.  We also have plenty of dates available throughout the winter and spring-access the trail system right from the property!  Looking for a long weekend?  Thursday and Sunday nights are 25% off through March! Entire cabin except for a locked owner's storage closet. I am available via the hipcamp messenger app with any questions or concerns, and the neighbor lady, who helps to maintain the property, is also around for immediate or urgent concerns should you not be able to reach me. Ojibwa is a small community located about halfway between Hayward and the Chequamegon National Forest (20 minutes away) in Wisconsin's Northwoods. The Chippewa river meanders next to many of the major roads and the Tuscobia Trail, the number 1 rated ATV/UTV trail in the state, runs parallel to the river and right through the center of town. The area is known for it's incredible fishing, biking, hiking, and cross country skiing in winter. It is an ideal location for day-tripping, visiting the Birkie Trail in Cable, the Chippewa Flowage (7 miles away), or any of the multitude of other attractions nearby! As the cabin is remote and secluded, the best way to get around is via your personal vehicle Please note that cell reception in the area can be spotty and Verizon's network works best. However, there is free WIFI at the cabin so that you can communicate if you need over the internet. We take safety seriously. For your security and ours, the exterior entrances to the cabin are monitored with security cameras. One camera is located on the back deck and overlooks the grill area, the path up the river, and the sliding patio doors. The other camera covers the front porch and parking area. Use of boats and premises is at your own risk. Appropriate safety gear (i.e. life jackets, etc.) should be used when enjoying the watercraft. Children should be supervised at all times, and parents should note that there are not baby gates for the stairs or any barriers leading to the path to the river. While firewood is provided, we only provide it for indoor fires. For outdoor fires, there is occasionally a pile of scrap wood down by the fire pit, or you are welcome to forage on the property or bring in some wood. Alternatively, you may purchase extra firewood from us for outdoor fires for $35. Please DON'T LEAVE food in your car as this could attract bears and other critters. We provide a large bin for trash at the end of the driveway and request that all garbage and recyclable items are bagged and removed from the house at the end of your stay. DOG POLICYDogs (up to 2) are accepted with the following conditions. We charge an extra cleaning fee of $95. Guests who ask to bring dogs to our home will receive a copy of our dog agreement after booking (via the hipcamp messaging system) for review, completion, signature and return. Please note that we require all dogs to be at least 2 years old at time of stay and fully house trained. The booking party will be responsible if/when damage is incurred above and beyond any security deposits Please message us with any questions or concerns about our policies. Thank you!

The Chippewa Ridge Cabin exceeded our expectations. The house has so many lovely little touches. My family and I enjoyed cooking our meals and playing games together and then getting in the kayaks and paddling down the Chippewa flowage/river. Super cozy place. Thank you

We had such an amazing time at the Chippewa Ridge Cabin! The cabin was so nice and cozy and very very well stocked with anything that we may have forgotten! Extra games and toys for the kiddos too were a major plus! Andy and Brittney were so quick to respond to any questions we had and made sure we felt beyond welcomed! I would definitely recommend this to anyone thinking about staying here. It was so peaceful and private. We loved being right on the river too!

Loved this cabin so much I had to return with my family! The back room of this cabin, built of all windows and a fireplace, is one of the most peaceful indoor, yet surrounded by nature, spots I’ve found, and we spent many hours reading and playing games. Lots of amenities, responsive hosts, a great find all around!
