RRA carefully choses sites to provide guests with opportunities for safe swimming, fishing, and wildlife viewing. We also try to pick sites that offer shade, light breeze, and privacy.
Great secluded area. Everything was set up and ready to go when we got there. Host was polite friendly and very helpful when it came to fishing tips. He even came back and brought some items we forgot in our car. Plenty of firewood to keep your campfire going. It’s the perfect mix of glamping and survival camping if that’s your thing. Lucky for my wife and I this was a perfect weekend getaway for us. We are definitely planning on making this a Labor Day tradition. Also not a bad way to celebrate her birthday. The only drawback was the amount of bugs we didn’t account for but now we know better and will be better prepared for our next adventure getaway. Also plenty of room to bring friends. Our piece of land was large enough that if we had friends or family there, there was enough room for privacy when you wanted it but not so much that you would feel isolated from your group.
Our family loved the experience RRA provided! The tent was cute and quaint. The bedding was soft and temperature appropriate. I barely noticed the beds were air mattresses. A lot of the cooking supplies seemed nearly new and were all very clean. Even the outdoor toilet exceeded my expectations, (though a warning for shyer folk, the toilet spot was secluded but not enclosed! Wasn’t really a problem for us.) Seth was helpful, welcoming, and friendly yet professional! He gave my son tips on where to fish and even offered to get him some worms!
We chose RRA so we could give our kids the experience of canoe camping with less of the setup and tear down that is always so exhausting. Did not disappoint. It was so nice not to argue with my husband about how to setup our tent!
Don’t sleep on making a reservation, my only regret is that the fall colors hadn’t started changing yet for our trip! Maybe next year!
It was exactly as described and the pictures show. Seth was awesome with pre-trip communication. He was waiting on time when we arrived. The River is beautiful. The camp was well organized and clean. We saw so much wild life. The swimming was great and very suitable for young kids. I would absolute recommend this trip to any one of any canoeing/camping skill level. Thanks Seth and family!
This was an AMAZING trip- my favorite of the entire summer! I loved how unique the experience was, and it was so dog friendly. The full moon, fresh water, and Yeti cooler full of ice were big bonuses. I am telling everyone about this place!
This is the place to be!! I’ve always been curious about canoe camping and Seth’s set up and instructions made it very approachable and easy. The canoe trip to the island was serene. It was a perfect way to get to know the river, sandbars and wildlife. Once on the island, we enjoyed swimming, floating along shore and island hopping. This was a one of a kind experience. Thank you Seth!
