Heavens Acres has been a stop over since the 1850's for people travelling by horse from Toronto to Owen Sound. We have 100 acres surrounded by another 200 acres of conservation land. There is camping in the pine forest as well at the very back of the property where you will find a hardwood bush with trails. Please note that the hipcamp map shows a large body of water on the property, as does google driving maps. It is a marsh, not a lake. Google Earth shows it better. There is however, a creek and pond, but don't bring your boat. :) This is a "LEAVE NO TRACE" campsite, so please take all garbage when you leave.

Imagine having your own island you reach by walking across the 15 metre covered bridge with a few areas to set up your tent(s) from where you'll fall asleep listening to the sound of the spring flowing into the pond, what bliss. The other site has a large rectangular pond of its own to ensure everyone has privacy. Your drinking water comes from Mother Nature, not a well, true spring water that's icy cold and so refreshing. he property is mostly 50 yr old pine trees with a couple walking trails throughout. There are two spring fed ponds which makes them revitalizing on a hot day when you go for a swim. We are located 10 minutes away from the town of Hanover and the Allan Park Conservation is right beside us and has numerous walking and off road bicycling trails. The Saugeen River is 5 minutes away which you can kayak or tube down, too much fun that is. Our property offers beautiful scenery, virtual privacy, you see glimpses of our home, peace and tranquility with the backdrop of Mother Nature to be heard, geese, wild turkeys, deer, lots of songbirds, coyotes and oh yes, our big friendly lovable mutt Walker and the two new dogs who ate getting loveable, Bella and Hunter. The sunsets can be spectacular and later the stars twinkle above and maybe you'll even see a satellite high above while you're stargazing. Each site has a table (you'll need to bring lawn chairs), firepit with a cooking grill, and a supply of wood you'll have to purchase from us upon arrival, as we are a forestry managed property. An outhouse is a pleasant walk within minutes of the site. Water for dishes and general washing can just be taken from the pond (DO NOT DRINK) Not that it would kill you, lol. Ray will keep you supplied with fresh spring water for drinking. Also, the covered bridge is there if, HEAVEN FORBID, it rains, where you can seek coverage and watch and listen to it fall. New to this site is a solar powered string of 300 lights, two single person floats, and a hammock for your added enjoyment. There are numerous things to do within a 15 minute drive. A couple dams, 2 conservation parks, drive-in theatre, casino, horse racing, small stock car racing track (great for young kids), two local breweries, a busy local butcher and the Saugeen River. With more destinations as you move outward. We promise you won't be disappointed and can't wait to share our piece of Heaven with you. TAKE NOTE You will be charged $500 per bag/item of refuse you leave behind. WE DO NOT HAVE GARBAGE PICKUP, besides which you are supposed to leave the site as you found it. CANCELATIONS: IF you cancel within two weeks of your arrival date, your money will NOT be refunded nor will you be able to change the date. About

Just three hours north of Toronto, Sauble Falls Provincial Park is a gateway to exploring the Bruce Peninsula. The highlight of the park is Sauble Falls, which once powered a timber mill and generating station. Now, they’re best enjoyed by families and, come fall, spawning salmon and trout. There’s excellent fishing in the area and would-be anglers can rent canoes and kayaks onsite. On the smaller side, the park has just two campgrounds.

Notable campgrounds

Best for families: The eastern section of West Campground is perfect for families. It has easy access to showers, laundry, and recreation facilities like the basketball and volleyball courts and the playground.
Best for hikers: East Campground’s easternmost section is next to Sauble Trail, a 2.5-kilometre route that travels through ancient sand dunes.

Tips for snagging a campsite

Sauble Fall is a small provincial park, with about 150 camping sites. If there’s a particular site you want (say, with a view of the water), you should book well in advance.
You can make reservations up to five months before arrival. However, you cannot cancel bookings more than four months out. As such, should you miss out on a spot at the five-month mark, wait for a month or so when some cancellations come up.
Opting for a mid-week visit or choosing a less popular site (like one that’s further away from the water) will greatly increase your odds of securing a last-minute booking. And if you’re hoping for a truly last-minute spot, you can try calling the park just after noon on the day you want to visit. Campers who leave early will receive a full refund provided they cancel before 12pm on the day of their departure. You might just be able to snag a spot that opens up.

When to go

Sauble Falls Provincial Park is open from late April until late October. Like many parks, Sauble Falls bans alcohol on Victoria Day and for the 10 days preceding it. Canada Day (July 1) and the August Civic Holiday (first Monday in August) are two very busy long weekends for the park. Book your reservations well in advance to avoid disappointment. In mid-September, you can see rainbow trout and chinook salmon swimming upstream over the ledges of the waterfall to spawn.

Know before you go

If you want to fish at Sauble Falls Provincial Park, you’ll need a license. They’re available from a number of regional businesses.
Bruce Peninsula National Park is just a short drive away. The park is home to hiking, birdwatching, camping, and even bouldering. Those keen to climb along the shore might just spot the endangered Lakeside Daisy.
Everything from groceries to hardware can be found in the nearby town of Wiarton. Just outside Wiarton is Suntrail Source for Adventure, a comprehensive outdoor outfitter.
