You’ll find you get a lot of options at Devil’s Lake Campground.

Electric or non-electric? Beach or hiking? East Bluff or West Bluff? But once you get a glimpse of the sun hitting those sweet quartzite formations and glinting off that dazzling blue water, you’ll know Devil’s Lake isn’t just about the options. It’s not just about the 29 miles of trails or hundreds of sites in a large, friendly and accommodating campground. It’s about doing whatever the heck you want in a beautiful natural area that compliments your moods and whims. Go forth and be awesome.

My favorite camping location in the Midwest! Beautiful bluffs to hike and a lake to play on! Secluded and off the beaten path, this park is great for those waiting an escape without having to travel far.

If you have a trailer make sure you get a level and long site. Many are on inclines and declines.

Hike at sunrise to avoid the crowds because the hiking trails can get busy and aren't very wide.

The Ice Age Campground site 351 is our favorite, you can fit several tents, close to water, close to restrooms and showers (but not too close). It a nice wooded site.

If you like to hike and rock climb this will be an enjoyable experience for you. I camp here often as I live in Wisconsin and love rock climbing. SUP paddling is great as well as the beach. If you plan to come and climb here it's best to purchase a climbing guide. There are hundreds of routes on the east and west bluffs and also boulder problems to climb threw-out the park. Sites book fast so reserve a head or get there early as the first come first serve sites fill fast!

There is no better place to hike in the region but the campgrounds nearly always crowded and loud. It's a great place for a family get-together, since the bathrooms/showers are relatively decent, but look elsewhere for peaceful camping.

Try to avoid late spring during the lake-fly hatch. They don't bite, but they will ruin your ability to get anywhere within 30 yards of the shoreline.
