Weekend Trip to Camper On 11 Acres, Private Site

Scott and Christine's 11 acre land was a peaceful place to be at. Their camper was a sweet experience for any family that loves to be outdoors and enjoy the luxury of being home away from home. It's perfect for small families and larger families. We brought our family pet dog along with us and he loved the camping/glamping in an RV as well as running around on the trails that Scott and his family have on their 11 acre land. It was beautiful to leave the city and be in the sticks of the charter township, Comstock. At Scott and Christine property we fully enjoyed hearing all the serene sounds of nature that you rarely hear in the hustle and bustle of a city. Inside their RV provided everything needed to camp/glamp; pots, pans, cooking utensils, cleaning supplies, flat skillets, griddles, grills, Dutch oven, conventional RV oven, microwave, RV stove, eating utensils, paper plates, paper and plastic cups, Keurig coffee maker. Literally everything you could think of that you would need or want to camp/glamp comfortably was already there. They even had shampoo/conditioner, body wash, anti microbial hand soap, cleaning supplies, deep woods off spray, first aide kits, full body towels, hand towels etc, to keep clean. We brought our own toiletries. It definitely was a cozy home away from home. Don't worry if you forgot to pack anything because chances are that Scott and Christine got you covered. Bring your loved ones and have a relaxing time.

Absolutely wonderful time!! The hosts are amazing and the camper plus campsite is perfect with everything you may need! Our dog was able to be off leash entire time even during trail walks. We will most definitely be back for another trip to total relaxation and serenity! Thank you again Scott and Christina for an amazing time!

My family and I had an amazing weekend at Scott’s camper, they have everything set up to get you started for a great family camping trip. We wanted a quick easy and relaxing weekend and that’s exactly what we got. He even came down to the camper to introduce himself and make sure we were settled in, they allowed our dogs to explore and it was all around a great experience. He started us off with lots off wood and even showed us how to get the fire going (beginner here) His camper was well maintained and clean. He even had a table to set up by the fire, a fan, shampoo and games! At night time I was able to log into my Netflix account and unwind on one of 3 tvs the camper has to offer. The surroundings were peaceful, and quiet. We will definitely be back!

Loved my experience! Was just looking to spend a night under the stars and get out of Grand Rapids for a night and this was the perfect spot for it. Had the campground to myself, since it was still March. All was quiet and peaceful. Wish I could’ve had time to meet the animals! I do plan to come back sometime to do so. Weekend Trip to 2Chicks And A Farm

This was a perfect overnight trip and can't wait to come back! The tent, camp beds, and chairs were super comfortable. But Julie really creates something special with her extra touches. We added on the extras- dinner and breakfast. I enjoy cooking over a fire but a three course meal? Delicious!! Dessert was perfect with hot little fruit pies with ice cream! The animals were fun. We made bestie with a little calico kitty who spent the evening and morning with us. I got to visit the baby goats, and the chickens made the rounds chaperoned by their rooster. And when our car battery was dead, we even got a jump. Full service. Everyone we met was friendlyand welcoming. Yay!

Weekend Trip to DaltonTraders Base Camp-Grand Cabin

A wonderful stay enjoyed by us and our two dogs. A rare warm weekend in March, so the cabin stayed cozy with ambient temperature. Very quiet surroundings, comfortable and easy to enjoy a campfire outdoors, a nice food prep area indoors. Definitely the most immaculate, comfortable outhouse port-a-john I've ever seen! Camp is a short drive to hike in Muskegon State Park and visit downtown. Ed's a very thoughtful and friendly host!

We loved our stay at Dalton Traders Grand Cabin. Peaceful and quiet. Weather was unseasonably warm so we did not need the woodstove. Had some lovely rain showers overnight which made the cabin even more cozy. Very private with the cleanest porta potty I've ever seen. Ed was responsive and very welcoming. Cabin was clean and well organized. Close to downtown Muskegon and the state park where we found some excellent hiking opportunities. We will definitely be back next winter for some snow sports!

I couldn’t have been happier with my stay, like a lot of the other reviews said Ed was an incredibly friendly warm and helpful guy. The cabin was very private. I couldn’t see anything or anyone which was perfect. It’s, fairly primitive, but with just the right touches to make you feel comfortable. The fire pit was great, plenty of wood. The wood-burning stove was definitely one of my favorite parts. I’ve never felt so cozy.! Will definitely be coming back!

This was such a sweet little cabin. It had beautiful craftsmanship and had a great wood burning stove. We enjoyed cooking outside over the fit pit. They also had a Coleman inside where we made our coffee in the morning. Ed provided snow shoes to explore the property. The location is nice because it is quiet but close enough to Muskegon state park to have a nice adventure. I highly recommend Dalton cabin. Ed was very friendly and a great host.

1 night at DaltonTraders Base Camp-Grand Cabin

I’ve just stayed at the Dalton Grand Cabin hosted by Ed and Pat. I recommend this stay to anyone who enjoys a private and peaceful place in the woods. Surrounded by tall and majestic oaks and beech trees, this little cabin had everything I needed for my short stay. I would have definitely stayed longer, but it’s a high demand place, and for good reason! Ed met me upon arrival and showed me the cabin and grounds, and he showed me how to work the lovely efficient wood stove in the corner. Plenty of wood was provided as were some nice amenities. The location is also very convenient to the Muskegon/West Michigan area, and I had a great time checking out the Lakeshore and the winter recreation park nearby. Weekend Trip to DaltonTraders Base Camp-Grand Cabin

Ed & Pat are absolute gems. I thought I might be a bit earlier than planned & they were willing to work with me and communicated with me to make sure everything was on track. The cabin is cozy, clean, charming, warm, and honestly just perfect. My dog never wanted to come in though; he loved running around in the snow. Ed explained how everything worked and on my second day I was able to keep my fire alive in the wonderful wood burning stove. I watched a deer eat corn off a tree trunk right outside the cabin. There are plenty of stores, gas stations and food spots on the way and nearby, but not too close. You really do have privacy & plenty of woods and quiet to love. It’s a perfect place to unwind, read a book by oil lamp and fire, and feel human again! I will be back for sure!

Secluded, but only a 800 feet from the main residence. Only 1 1/2 miles P.J Hoffmaster's State Park and a 10 minutes ride to Grand Haven State Park/Lake Michigan. For a total of 13 options. 2Chicks And A Farm is a small working farm on 20 acres. 15 minutes from South Haven and the lake. 30 minutes from the city of Kalamazoo. And just under an hour from Grand Rapids. About half of the 20 acres is wooded, which is where three of our camp sites are located. Each one has a fire ring and wooden picnic table. One site, capable of taking a mid sized RV / Fifth Wheel, is located on the front of the property with easy access from the road. It backs up to some trails and and brush / wood area and has a corn field to the right. So, even though on the front on the property, you have a feeling of privacy. It too has a fire pit and wooden picnic table. Three camp sites are located in the pasture. One is at the bottom of the pasture and quite open. It can accommodate larger groups with multiple tents. A more secluded half open and half in light woods., and is located at the top of the pasture. Then another in the middle of the pasture, one for sun lovers and one for those who prefer more shade. For those who prefer more seclusion, we have cleared three sites in the woods. All sites have a fire ring, or metal fire pit, and wooden picnic table. Some have fire wood boxes (we’re working on making a box for all sites). We have an outdoor propane shower that provides both hot and cold water. This is free. A coffee bar is on the back deck. Coffee is brewing around 7am. We also provide hot water, teas, hot chocolate and cider. Feeling a little peckish before breakfast, or after dinner? Help yourself to a snack. This is all free, though small donations are welcomed. Our goats, poultry, pigs, and dogs and produce take up about an acre and a half. Then the rest is open space. You are welcome to collect eggs for breakfast and fresh produce from our gardens (additional fee). Use the BBQ or smoker. And even join in on farm chores if you are so inclined. Please try to plan to check-in by 9pm. Exceptions can be made. There are locally mandated quiet hours (10-7 Sun through Thur, and 11-7 Fri and Sat). Hanging out by a fire and chatting is fine.

One Grand Place - Riverside Retreat

Welcome to our little slice of heaven along the Grand River in Grand Haven, Michigan. Voted one of the best places to visit in 2022 and 2023. This property is at the end of a private road and has three adjoining waterfront parcels that have been in the family for decades that we fondly refer to as One Grand Place. Family still lives on one of the parcels but we are excited to be sharing the other 2 parcels with all of you. One parcel is our Premium RV site on a cement pad, parallel to the river and can accommodate 1 RV (5th wheel, travel trailer, pop up, Class C etc. NO Class A's allowed). 30/50/standard 110 Electric and water hookup. Pump out is available for a fee. The other adjacent parcel at the very far west end of the property is a large grassy area with 2 sites. Both have 30 and standard 110 electric, plus water. --1 Standard RV site can accommodate 1 RV (5th wheel, travel trailer, pop up, Class C etc. NO Class A's allowed). Or, can be used as a tent site IF the tent only site is already booked. Pump out is available for a fee. --1 Tent only site. To be booked first before the Standard RV site. However, both sites are next to each other with same view. There is plenty of room to set up games, fish, play with the kids or the dogs, etc. What's not to like? It is your very own exclusive home away from home. If you don't have an RV or a tent and want to still come and visit, no problem. Rent one of our RVs or rent our tent. PLEASE NOTE: We are not a commercial campground or a business. However, there are certain rules that must be adhered to per the agreement with our local township and our neighbors along our shared private road. Property is adjacent to Connor Bayou County Park and is surrounded by natural wetlands. Perfect place to unwind, chill, enjoy the fresh air and picture perfect sunsets. Boating, swimming, jet skis, kayaking, paddleboarding, fishing are just a few of the things to enjoy on the water. Bring your own boat, jet ski, kayak or rent from nearby establishments. One of many public boat launches is just a couple minute ride and Connor Bayou County Park has a kayak specific boat launch. You can also drop a kayak in at the very west end of our property right from shore. If you are bringing your own boat, jet ski, kayak and have a separate trailer, parking of that trailer must be pre-authorized due to limited space. Please inquire. Hiking, biking and wildlife, bird/eagle watching are also in the area. Spring Lake, Lake Michigan, beaches, various state/county parks, downtown Grand Haven's shops and restaurants are just a short drive away. Holland is about 30 minutes south and also has a cute downtown, craft beers, and beaches. PJ Hoffmaster State Park is 20 minutes North. If you are a thrill seeker Michigan's Adventure Amusement and Waterpark is only 30 minutes North in Muskegon. There are also many wineries, ciders and craft beer in Southwest Michigan. And many blueberry farms around too. Bottom line....there is plenty of things to do and see during your visit. You can be as active or as chill as you want to be.

Lynx Run Wilderness Retreat

My property (Lynx Run) has an amazing geological and historical background. During the last ice age, glacial waters carved out the ravine in which the Betts Creek flows. Sometimes, the creek drops over 60 feet below the surrounding terrain as it meanders back and forth in oxbows as it flows toward the Muskegon River. It was once the hunting, foraging and camping grounds of the Potawatami Indians. In the late 1800's it was at the center of the Michigan Timber Industry. Running along the edge of my property is the old railroad bed where timber was once hauled away. Only two miles from my home, the logs were sent down the side of the hill and into the Muskegon River on log chutes and then floated to where the Muskegon empties into Lake Michigan. Piles of field stones indicate that after the timber industry moved on, farmers moved in and attempted to tame the land. But, fortunately for me, the land was abandoned by the farmers and has returned to a much more natural and pristine state. My land is now a part of the Manistee National Forest and I am surrounded by thousands of acres of beautiful land (both public and private). I am the only person who lives back here in this part of the forest, so seclusion and privacy are wonderful and the wildlife and beauty is abundant.
