A trip to Moab wouldn’t be complete without checking out Goose Island Campground, one of the area’s most popular sites.

Close to town? Just four miles down the road. Impressive redrock cliffs? Only the best Arches National Park has to offer. Proximity to the Colorado River? A quick stroll and you’ll be dipping your toes in the water. RVers and tent campers alike can enjoy the fresh air and open desert sky at this gem of a spot, and maybe knock back a few cold ones while you’re at it.

Goose Island is one of the first campgrounds on the south side of Arches National Park and the Colorado River, east of Moab. This is a really great spot, close to hiking, mountain biking, bouldering, kayaking and other river activities. Expect this site to fill up quickly on popular weekends.

This was an amazing spot, with an awesome host. We got there really early, about 7:30, to make sure we got a spot, because most of them are gone by 10. However, we later found out that even if you pay for your spot and leave the slip clipped to the site number, people can take your spot if you don't leave something on the site. The camp host was nice enough to go over and leave a jug of water, so nobody tried to take it before we could return. The site itself was really nice. There are two restrooms on each end. The river is right next to the site, it's only a couple miles from the main road, about five miles from the town, and about five miles from the entrance to Arches National Park.

An absolute perfect campground! We went in early January and it was empty! It was incredible location to the town of Moab, boarders Arches, and is about a thirty minute drive to Canyonlands. It was winter so it was a little cold but our fire kept us warm. This would be a great camp spot in the summer. It was on the water and it was calling for us to swim in it.

Goose Island was a great spot for my first trip to Moab. Right off of the beautiful HWY 128 drive, you can pitch your tent and enjoy the Colorado River. Goose Island Trail runs through the campsite allowing you hop on your bike and head out with ease. $15 a spot, toilet facilities, and good vibes. Just across highway 128 you can do a some light exploring or find shelter when the wind is coming our of the NE.

Goose Island is a PERFECT spot to throw up the tents, pop-up, or camper. It's right on the CO River and super close to town, Arches, Dead Horse, Canyonlands, Bar M...all in and all good! $15/night is a killer deal and has toilet facilities. You can go to Poison Spider to shower and clean up if it's longer than a couple of days. Have fun and rubber side down!!
