There is plenty of space for everyone, however if you are looking for privacy and seclusion this may not be the weekend for you. The group is a quiet, very friendly bunch that value feeling free in nature, so there may be some nudie bums around! * If you need to take a break from the hustle and bustle of civilisation this is the place for you! Our little valley is located 90 minutes from either Sydney or Newcastle, but feels a million miles away. We are nestled in the middle of lush rainforest, at the meeting of two ever flowing creeks. The Great North Walk is literally on our doorstep, and a lovely 2.5 hour walk loops around the property through the surrounding National Park. We have 2 paddocks available for campers to enjoy, as well as our "TajMaPoo" comprised of 5 compost toilets and 5 showers (4 hot, 1 cold). We also have a large rustic shelter with lounges which acts as a wonderful communal gathering space. We absolutely love sharing this piece of paradise with any nature lovers who are respectful and kind to this pristine environment we are lucky to call home. Please no loud parties, no excessive drinking, and absolutely no rubbish left onsite or in neighbours bins. The atmosphere we like to cultivate here is one of quiet enjoyment of nature and community :) * It does not matter which paddock you book ('main' or 'quiet'), price is the same and we are happy for you to camp in whichever one you prefer when you get here. We ask all campers to please follow the following rules: - "leave no trace" anything you bring in you must bring out. This includes all rubbish, which must be taken home or to a public bin, but NEVER placed in any of the bins along our road - please drive slow on the road in and out of the property, taking extra care around horses and any pedestrians or cyclists during the day, and of course wildlife at night - please treat the toilets/showers with care and respect. If you make a mess clean it up, and leave the space ready for the next person to relax and take care of business :) - All dogs must be friendly (to people/strangers, children and other dogs). Dogs must remain in owners eye-sight and under their control at all times. All poos in open grassy areas must be picked up. Please ensure dogs are treated for ticks, as these are around and can be lethal for our beloved canines. - Fires only in receptacles that do not affect the grass. There are two communal fire circles already set up in the main paddock, which you are welcome to use. Please do not leave any metal or rubbish in communal fires.

There is plenty of space for everyone, however if you are looking for privacy and seclusion this may not be the weekend for you. The group is a quiet, very friendly bunch that value feeling free in nature, so there may be some nudie bums around! * If you need to take a break from the hustle and bustle of civilisation this is the place for you! Our little valley is located 90 minutes from either Sydney or Newcastle, but feels a million miles away. We are nestled in the middle of lush rainforest, at the meeting of two ever flowing creeks. The Great North Walk is literally on our doorstep, and a lovely 2.5 hour walk loops around the property through the surrounding National Park. We have 2 paddocks available for campers to enjoy, as well as our "TajMaPoo" comprised of 5 compost toilets and 5 showers (4 hot, 1 cold). We also have a large rustic shelter with lounges which acts as a wonderful communal gathering space. We absolutely love sharing this piece of paradise with any nature lovers who are respectful and kind to this pristine environment we are lucky to call home. Please no loud parties, no excessive drinking, and absolutely no rubbish left onsite or in neighbours bins. The atmosphere we like to cultivate here is one of quiet enjoyment of nature and community :) * It does not matter which paddock you book ('main' or 'quiet'), price is the same and we are happy for you to camp in whichever one you prefer when you get here. We ask all campers to please follow the following rules: - "leave no trace" anything you bring in you must bring out. This includes all rubbish, which must be taken home or to a public bin, but NEVER placed in any of the bins along our road - please drive slow on the road in and out of the property, taking extra care around horses and any pedestrians or cyclists during the day, and of course wildlife at night - please treat the toilets/showers with care and respect. If you make a mess clean it up, and leave the space ready for the next person to relax and take care of business :) - All dogs must be friendly (to people/strangers, children and other dogs). Dogs must remain in owners eye-sight and under their control at all times. All poos in open grassy areas must be picked up. Please ensure dogs are treated for ticks, as these are around and can be lethal for our beloved canines. - Fires only in receptacles that do not affect the grass. We offer limited sites to comply with NSW Camping legislation and Hipcamp guidelines and to enable campers to experience the Colo as it should be, listening to the beautiful wildlife and really appreciating the outdoors. Sites are large spaces with distance between sites to enable you to enjoy the camping experience in your own space. If you are planning to stay with friends and you wish to share a site only 1 booking is required, the sites are large, some up to 30m x 30m. Overview

With its prime location along the banks of the Hawkesbury River and surrounded by national parks, Wisemans Ferry is the gateway to central New South Wales. Campsites and caravan parks dot the riverside, and the neighboring Dharug National Park is also a favourite for campers. Pitch your tent at Mill Creek and enjoy direct access to the park’s hiking and mountain biking trails.

Where to go

Hunter Valley

The Macdonald River winds its way north from Wisemans Ferry all the way into the Hunter Valley wine region. Stop to visit the colonial town of St Albans—lunch at the riverside pub is a must—before exploring the wild landscapes of the Yengo National Park. There’s a wide range of bushland hikes, 4WD excursions, and mountain bike trails in the park, plus several camping grounds and picnic areas to choose from.

Blue Mountains

Southwest of Wiseman’s Ferry, the Blue Mountains National Park is the outdoor getaway of choice for day-trippers from Sydney. Ride the Scenic Railway or Cableway to admire dramatic gorges and waterfalls, spot kangaroos and koalas as you hike through lush eucalyptus forests, and see the famous Three Sisters rocks. Tourist parks provide camping near all the main attractions, while tranquil farm stays and bush campgrounds offer a back-to-nature experience.

Central Coast

If you tire of riverside activities, the beaches of NSW’s Central Coast are less than a 2-hour drive from Wiseman’s Ferry. When to go

Summer (December through February) is peak season in Wiseman’s Ferry, and it’s best to book campsites in advance if visiting at this time. Spring and autumn provide the ideal weather for bushwalking and camping in the national parks, and the natural landscapes are at their most colorful, scattered with spring wildflowers or fall foliage. The town falls quiet in winter, but most campsites remain open year-round, and rates are often lower.

Know before you go

There are buses to Wisemans Ferry from Sydney, but you will need your own transport to explore the surrounding national parks.

Wisemans ferry has a number of general stores but for specialist camping gear you might need to go to Sydney, about a 1-hour drive away.
