We can accept bookings from caravans, motorhomes, campers, camper trailers, tents, roof top tents and swags on select sites. We are perfectly situated if you want to explore the Mackay region and what the Pioneer Valley has to offer. Come and watch Platypus and turtles play in the billabong. No fires allowed at all, not even for cooking, except in winter. Fire pits will be provided, in winter, not individual fires allowed. We have fire pits to keep you warm on the cool winter nights as you sit around and share your travel stories. Sit back in tranquility as you watch the platypus, turtles and wild life gather in and around the billabong as the sun sets. It's a great way to finish the day. We also offer indoor accommodation for those who prefer all the mod cons. There are toilets and hot showers for campers, and access to the laundry. We have potable water hookups at most camp sites and we also offer four powered sites. You can use one of the two camp kitchens to cook your meals and use the picnic table for meals. Power is available at one of the camp kitchens to recharge your phones and appliances.

Jandarra Farm offers a comfortable and peaceful camping experience on a working farm in the Gold Coast hinterland. Certified through Ecotourism Australia, Jandarra’s goal is to model and inspire responsible ecological stewardship and foster harmony and creativity to build a regenerative and abundant future. Jandarra means 'place of peace' and we honour this by having a maximum of 6 campers at a time. Guests can visit the rockpool, take a self-guided walk through the rainforest, book a sauna (see Extras), and enjoy a conversation around the campfire under the stars (BYO firewood or see Extras). Take a short, hot shower with a view of the hills, toilets and a camp kitchen (no microwave or fridge) inside a rustic barn with tables and chairs. Starlink is the newest additon to the farm though may not have coverage in the camping areas. Telstra has some coverage. The 135-acre farm in Tallebudgera Valley is home to cattle, chickens, worm farms and bee hives, plus local wildlife. Guests are invited to learn about regenerative agricultural practices such as how Jandarra is managing cattle to build soil biology and rebalance nature, using holistic management practices - moving the cattle every day using electric fences (to replace the predators) and small paddocks (26 of them actually). As food security and clean food becomes more important than ever before, we can contribute in a small way to improving the quality of your soil to grow vegetables by providing short introductory sessions on worms and manure for your gardens. SUSTAINABILITY The caretaker of this property co-founded "Boomerang Bags", a not-for-profit organisation raising awareness of plastic pollution through community engagement. There are over 1200 communities globally diverting material from landfill and creating habits of reuse rather than single-use. Therefore, drumroll...please bring reusable rather than single-use (eg beeswax wraps instead of cling wrap, real containers rather than takeaway) and take home any rubbish (you won't find any bins except for the food scraps). We would be very happy to show you how to make a boomerang bag for keeps on the industrial sewing machines that live in the garage. ABOUT REGENERATIVE AGRICULTURE Jandarra is the 40th property in Australia to undertake the Ecological Outcome Verification (EOV) Process through the Savory Institute. EOV was developed in collaboration with leading soil scientists, ecologists, agronomists and an extensive network of regenerative land managers around the world. EOV is a practical and scalable soil and landscape assessment methodology that tracks outcomes in biodiversity, soil health, and ecosystem function (water cycle, mineral cycle, energy flow and community dynamics). Jandarra has 10 Short term monitoring sites plus one long-term monitoring site. By recognising both land regeneration targets and trends, EOV endorsement is bestowed as long as land health moves in a net positive direction with the third year monitoring event in April 2023 confirming the positive trend. South East Queensland

With the state capital Brisbane as your starting point, head to Queensland’s first National Park, Lamington National Park (established in 1915), for cooler climes and ancient Gondwana rainforests. The south-east’s subtropical climate means lots of sunshine, perfect for any camping trip.

Whitsundays

From Airlie Beach, take off for the green islands of Whitsunday Islands National Park or stick to the coast, exploring Conway National Park, where you may be joined by rock wallabies. Despite its holiday atmosphere, it’s easy to get away from it all. The best islands for hiking and camping are Whitsunday Island and Hook Island.

Southern Great Barrier Reef Region

Straddling the Tropic of Capricorn, this somewhat under-rated region has much to offer. Visit in summer for turtle nesting and hatching at Mon Repos Conservation Park, or head offshore to Lady Elliot Island. The main towns are Bundaberg and Gladstone, but it’s worth checking out the coastal villages of Agnes Water and 1770 or heading inland to explore the trails and gorges of the spectacular Carnarvon National Park.
