    Our venue and campgrounds are situated at the old Jimna State School property. The school closed in 2009 with the last students attending in 2006. It was then sold by the Qld government and has been rezoned as a Camping, Recreation and Events Venue. We have retained all the old school facilities for our campers to enjoy. There is a children’s playground and multi-purpose tennis court for everyone to enjoy. We provide tennis rackets, balls and basketballs free of charge to our campers. There is also no charge or fee to use the court. On most Sundays afternoons (weather permitting), we have social tennis where everyone is welcome to join in. The old school toilet blocks have the addition of hot showers and all toilet facilities are the flushing type. Campfires are permitted and there are small mobile fire pits provided so wherever you set up camp you can have your campfire right beside you. Note: There are no ground fires permitted and at certain times of the year Qld Rural Fire brigade may enforce a total fire ban. We have our “Caffeine Injection” kiosk on-site for the weekends and school holidays. Get your morning caffeine fix as well as bagged ice, firewood, ice creams, snacks, cold drinks etc etc Then we have the old school principals residence aka “The Bush Holiday House“. It is fully self-contained and all linen is provided. Just BYO food & drinks. We offer this for one night stays and longer. Jimna is a tiny town immersed in the Australian bush; with nearby gorges, ravines, creeks and waterfalls - some wild & spectacular places to see. What better place to base yourself and explore our part of the Conondale National Park, Jimna State Forest... be it on foot, horseback, motorcycle, 4x4 or mountain bike!!     A beautiful piece of remnant forest on the bank of the Nerang River, with a swimming hole that is second to none. The tree tent is situated in a small forest clearing overlooking the river rapids. The site has a compact outdoor kitchen complete with refrigerator, an outdoor hot shower, a firepit and a separate composting toilet. Sails are rigged above the tent to provide extra shade and shelter. It's private and shady but only a few minutes from the house. The valley is a gem, only 200 odd people live here. If you love the outdoors - either just to chill or to actively recreate - this place is for you. As an outdoor educator, I have worked and played in the valley and surrounds for more than 25 years and I'm still discovering new things to see and do! Advancetown Lake is a short drive away with paddling, sailing and fishing and no power boats or jetskis (Yeeha!!) There is a mountain bike park on the E side of the dam. You can walk from here to Springbrook and Lamington National Parks and the glow worms at Natural Bridge are a night time "must see".

There is a great bus service on the island and nearest bus stop is less than 2 km away. Rental cars are also available at good rates.

    Absolutely an amazing place to camp, relax and enjoy the surroundings. My 30th birthday was spent here at the base camp and I set up a “Australian Survivor” weekend for the friends that came.     Wonderful view from the campsite across the forest, beautifully secluded and surrounded by nature. Aromatic plants all over the campsite and property, and lots of wildlife drop in to say hello. Moderately hard walk to the rockpools, make sure you bring a backpack and water for the hike. Always ask for a Thai dinner while you’re there, you will regret it if you don’t!

    The site was lovely and private, however the ad is misleading as the entire property is in no way 2WD accessible. We had to cross through 2 creeks to get there, as well as a very poorly maintained dirt road. It rained the night before we were supposed to leave which caused the creek to rise significantly. We were unable to get back out of the property and had to be winched through by a neighbour

    We stayed at Big Logs and Hideaway Flats on Anita's property and WOW was this place magical! No phone reception - a million stars every night and extremely well maintained campsites. Hideaway Flats is very well hidden away and feels extremely secluded and private. There is a creek bed nearby but extremely minimal water (even after some rain). Big Logs was very wide open and had a knee high creek 50m away which was great for a cool-off in the heat. The cows came and visited us in the mornings and the animals on the farm were very friendly. Tracks are easily accessible for any 4x4 with some creek crossings and steeper climbs but nothing a standard 4x4 couldn't handle Overall a 10/10 experience for us

    4WD Recommended - dirt/gravel road and two creek crossings (through the creek bed) to get here. We have a whole beautiful valley with crystal clear spring-fed creeks, patches of rain forest and hillsides covered in grass-trees backing onto Wrattens State Forest. There's 1,375 acres of land - the boundaries of our property are the ridges of the mountains that encircle us, and many rare species abound here. This is a dog and horse friendly property but no pets allowed in the cabin. There is paralysis tick in this region - so we'd recommend treating any animal before you come and frequent checks while you're here. No mobile phone coverage at the cabin, but there is a hill you can drive (or walk) up on the property to get phone signal if needed and we have a landline phone in our house which can be used in emergencies.

    We have a variety of campsites to choose from. Camping is presently basic as we are building it up and is better suited for campers with fully equipped 4WD. Not all sites have toilets we ve now 3 toilets from bottom spaces and are still working on top site toilets ( goal is October 25) Some campsites are more secluded than others, some have toilets some dont and of course great views. The kids will love toasting marshmallows around the campfire in the evenings. Sit back, relax and gaze at the stars. Pets welcome. The property is hilly and may be unsuitable for camper homes. No harming the wildlife, our wildlife is harmless if you do not provoke it or threaten it, Please use water wisely . There are dams and water holes and drains on the property as it is a working farm.
