Bush camping along the banks of a seasonal Gully that is lined with huge, majestic paperbark trees. There are 10 separate camp spots and all have a slashed track to the pit toilet. 3 in shady areas away from the gully that are suitable for Caravans. 3 located near the Gully, suitable for Caravans and larger groups and 4 that are located near the Gully but only suitable for camp trailers, roof top tents and smaller groups.
Enjoy nature and feel free to explore the gully with it's many natural bridges and hidden animal habitats. As this is a working family farm, cattle from the remaining property will graze this Gully block from time to time so all gates must remain closed. We also ask that children are supervised at all times and advise that the Gully is not suitable for swimming.
Kelsey Creek is a cane farming district and a small gauge train line goes past the property which makes for a lovely rural experience. Keep an eye out for the glow in the sky and you might get to witness a cane fire also.
Being only 7 minutes west of Proserpine it is well located to take in the beauty of the Whitsundays.
Gully Getaway is in an Environmental Protection Zone that restricts trees being felled and the removal of debris in the watercourse, so please do not use for firewood.

TRAIL BIKES - kids with no bigger than 50cc welcome but must ride in designated area under full parental supervision. For adults there are huge state forests next door with fantastic trails as will as the sand trails in the enormous pine forests close by.
PARTY SHED - if you wish to have a bit of a party, band, get together etc we have a pretty groovy 100 year old shed for hire.

Relax at your peaceful campsite and watch the animals graze around you. They are fed twice a day and your host can provide food for you to hand feed.
We have a flat 5 acres with lots of well loved hobby farm animals including sheep, muscovy ducks, chickens, miniature pig and horses. We may even have lambs, ducklings or chicks, if you are lucky. Inside we have a couple of Childrens pythons that also are part of the attraction.
We have an above ground swimming pool for guests to enjoy in the warmer months and lots of room to throw a footy around or what ever pleases you, as long as it doesn't disturb anyone else.
Campfires are permitted when there are no restrictions in place. I have 20kg bags of firewood for $20 cash, just advise on arrival that you want some. I have fire pits here that you can move around to suit your campsite.
There are no street lights out here, so remember to look up at night as the stars you can see are amazing. If you like to go spotlighting you may see a koala, possom, squirel glider, barn owls, flying foxes and other surprises.
Guests are required to be fully self sufficient with their own toilet/shower facilities. Flushing toilets available soon. From September 2024. You are welcome to dispose of rubbish in my wheelie bin and i encourage recycling and there is a bag for 10 cent cans etc.
We often see koalas in trees and along the rail trail, which is just a km down the road. We are also close to a spar supermarket, takeaway shop and local pub.
There is a simple playground that we are always adding to in the middle paddock under the shady trees and the back paddock is the biggest area and furthest from my house.
Sorry, no dogs permitted. Most other pets are allowed but just ask to be sure.
If you are a horse person bring your electric fence and your horse will just be $10 extra per night to cover water costs. I have a 20 meter round yard here you are welcome to use.

Joyful Valley is a rural bush property with level grass areas surrounded by trees. Easy access to major roads, shops, tourist area’s and beaches. There are water billabongs and a creek with tiny fish, lotus flowers. Kangaroos,, goannas, horses, lots of butterflies and bird life to see. Bee hives and horses are onsite.
This is a super convenient location. The Bruce Highway is opposite where the property then stretches far back. Enjoy bush camping and being able to stretch out with space but with all your conveniences so close by, 3minute drive to the uni and shops. The beautiful beaches of the Sunshine Coast are within a very easy reach along with Aussie World and Australia Zoo. A new bike path now links you directly with Aussie World and Banana Benders Pub.

If you are looking to bring your bicycles or horses to ride the Brisbane Valley Rail Trail, we are 1.7km from the entry point. We have two yards with shelters if you are bringing horses.
Valoros Arabians is 1.7km from the centre of town, which has a small grocery store, a service station/takeaway shop, a pharmacy and pub; where you can get a delicious meal and if you come at the right time; a live band!

We have three large dams for swimming and kayaking (kayaks provided onsite).

South East Queensland
With the state capital Brisbane as your starting point, head to Queensland’s first National Park, Lamington National Park (established in 1915), for cooler climes and ancient Gondwana rainforests. The south-east’s subtropical climate means lots of sunshine, perfect for any camping trip.
Cairns and the Great Barrier Reef
is the gateway to the Great Barrier Reef, with island and mainland camping to suit all, with a choice of 19 National Parks. Don flippers and snorkel and hit the water, explore the 165-million-year-old

Sunshine Coast

The volcanic peaks of the Glass House Mountains National Park offer hikers and climbers a challenge.
Whitsundays
From Airlie Beach, take off for the green islands of Whitsunday Islands National Park or stick to the coast, exploring Conway National Park, where you may be joined by rock wallabies. Despite its holiday atmosphere, it’s easy to get away from it all. The best islands for hiking and camping are Whitsunday Island and Hook Island.
Southern Great Barrier Reef Region
Straddling the Tropic of Capricorn, this somewhat under-rated region has much to offer. Visit in summer for turtle nesting and hatching at Mon Repos Conservation Park, or head offshore to Lady Elliot Island. The main towns are Bundaberg and Gladstone, but it’s worth checking out the coastal villages of Agnes Water and 1770 or heading inland to explore the trails and gorges of the spectacular Carnarvon National Park.
