    We stayed here at Easter over 5 days. The combination of the cottage and being able to camp next to the cottage was perfect for our 3 families. A nice secluded location. You need to book the cottage before you can book the campsites. The cottage has so much character and history. It was just what we needed considering the 4 seasons of weather we had over the weekend. You step back in time when huddled around the fireplace in the cottage when it is raining and windy outside. The flush toilet is added bonus. It's a great location to explore Burra, Clare, Mintaro or Anlaby Station. Thanks to Chris and Phil

    We loved our camp in the back corner. The paddock was nothing like we expected, just a bare sheep paddock with a few trees. But we loved it, we had Mr Ram join us, and it felt like we had the entire world to ourselves.

    Weekend Trip to     Cartapo Creek - Hobby Farm
    We really loved it here. Beautiful views of the hills in the background, lovely sunset. My son loved all the animals.... so did the adults. We loved feeding the pigs some apples and carrots and going to say hi to the cows , sheep and chickens. Was really nice to have different animals for the kids as a lot of places just have sheep in padocks. My son was in awe of all the farm machinery too. Toddler boy heaven. We got both the lamb chops and the 1kg meat pack and Oliver was really lovely and defrosted it for us. The meat was delicious. Would really recomend to get it while there. We will be back. We had a really nice time.

    I've had a great experience at Eckert’s Old Place. Upon arrival, it felt like time travel to the past and the Cabin was the cherry on top. Chris and Phill are great hosts and have done an amazing job preserving history and retelling the story of that place with such pleasant details, it left me truly impressed. Beautiful sunrise and spectacular night sky just to make the entire experience even better. I couldn't recommend more.

    This camp was a real charm, a beautifully restored to original farm cottage and a handy camp kitchen in the middle of a working sheep farm. We chose to camp out and watch the stars go overhead and enjoy the clear skies. Great location between the Barossa and Clare valley. Ideal for a big group to gather around the outdoor fire pit

    We are located just off the Horrocks Highway on the way to the Clare Valley amongst 42 acres of peppermint gum scrub sheltered by the ranges west of Tarlee. Here you will find lovely spread out camping spots with plenty of space to explore, quiet country roads for walking or riding with spectacular views of the ranges and valley as well as Kangaroos, Kookaburras and more native wildlife. Bush camping at its best. Firewood available to purchase on arrival, $25 for a large container and fire drums are provided. NO CHAINSAWS A beautiful peaceful spot with plenty of space for caravans, campers, tents and swags. We have a small flock of sheep to pat, children love to ride their push bikes down the hills and through the tracks. Our scrub is perfect for outdoor imagination and bundles of energy. Campers have made cubbies in the trees, tyre swings and set up hammocks for lazy afternoons or a swing. Pick a site that suits you best, set up camp, light a fire and sit back and relax. Pet friendly. Long drop toilet available.

Cartapo Creek - Hobby Farm is suitable for on and off-road caravans, 4WD, 2WD & AWD vehicles. Suitable for multiple groups that want to camp together. We have a 35 acre farm at the base of the Mt Lofty Ranges in Hallett. To the east of us is Mt Razorback and Mt Bryan which is part of the Heysen Trail. We have a mixture of Sheep, Cows, Pigs, Alpacas, Chickens and Peafowl roaming the property. Campers will be separate from roaming livestock, however can access them easily if they wish.     We are a Poll Merino sheep stud and a wheat/barley cropping farm at Emu Downs in the Mid North of SA. We have resurrected this character old workers quarters which we've turned into a rustic, peaceful abode for you to enjoy. Sleeps four (double bed, single bed and old miners couch,). Bring your own bedding. There is a flushing external toilet and a bush shower (ie: a shower bag, provided). The room with the open fire can be utilised as a kitchen/living area. We've provided crockery, cutlery, glasses, kettles and a camp oven. There is running cold rainwater into the sink. Cooking can be done on the open fire, or use the small camp gas cookers. There is also a gas BBQ in the outdoor room. If you are really brave, try your hand at camp oven cooking in the campfire. There is no power, only lighting provided from a small solar panel/battery. Extra guests welcome in tents, swags or vans adjacent to the cottage. To ensure only one group of campers at a time, THE COTTAGE HAS TO BE BOOKED FIRST, then book the extra campers through the additional campsites listing. Eckert's Old Place is within an easy drive to the Clare Valley wine regions and historic Robertstown, Burra and Eudunda. Campfires welcome when not in fireban season. You can order a wheelbarrow load for $30, or bring your own. Dogs are permitted, but please understand, we are a sheep stud and need to ensure no disturbance from dogs. Please advise if you intend to bring your dog.
