Weekend Trip to Creekside Camp

I enjoyed staying at Creekside Camp. It was quiet and peaceful. Would definitely stay again!

Greeted by owners who were super lovely and accommodating. Had the most beautiful sunset and sunrise and love the farm views.

We enjoyed our two nights here, would have liked to of stayed for more. Plenty of room beautiful scenery and the perfect friendly hosts. We ordered the cheese and meat platter on our first night a great addition to our stay, also camp fires allowed with wood available to buy. The pod was amazing and warm, great design. Beautiful clean campsite, well thought out. Property is stunning along the running water. I hope one day to return. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

The site was clean and tidy. Rob takes pride in it. Rob is very friendly, but don't get ideas about going native. Bring your toilet with you. Fail to do so and you'll be shown the gate.

Epic stay! Sandra and Ricky are super lovely and helpful hosts. The land is gorgeous with mountains surrounding in the distance. Beautiful sunset and sunrise. Highly highly recommend 👍🏼

This camp was understated and it over delivered. We had the place to ourselves and it was so peaceful.

Weekend Trip to Semaphore Farm

Lovely camp, plenty of space and the facilities were great. The kitchen was fully equiped with utensils, pots, pants, etc. No electricity which was ok. The shower was spacious and worked perfectly. Caretaker very helpfull and kind.

3 nights at Ryelands Farm & Vineyard

Ryelands Farm & Vineyard is a great place to camp for a few days. Private and secluded with great river access and views. We were lucky enough to spot a Quill at night , but the highlight was having the resident Platypus swim right up to me in the river. Derek is a friendly easy going host who puts a lot of work into making his guests feel welcome. The picnic table , bbq and firepit with ample wood provided made for an easy and comfortable stay. We didn’t manage to try Derek’s wine this visit but will on our return in the near future. Some phone signal by the rivers edge was useful and an easy 15-20 minute drive to New Norfolk if you need to stock up and find a dump point.

Lovely and easy. There was enough privacy and flat spots for our camper.

This spot is so tranquil and beautiful set on a river bank. Would definitely recommend this camp.

4 nights at River Huon Views, 3258 Huon Highway

We had a wonderful 4 night stay in the Orchard. It is a very protected site from the winds, still with a lovely open outlook to the Huon River. Whilst we were the only campers while we were there, the other site is well removed and you would not have privacy issues when Darren has both sites booked. We had some technical issues with our camper, and Darren could not have been more helpful, going above and beyond what we would have expected as a host. When we were doing our research, all enquiries were handled promptly. Very close to Franklin and Huonville shops, cafes and restaurants. Highly recommended.

Weekend Trip to Woodleigh - where beach meets bush

What genuinely lovely people sharing a part of their home. The ground is flat and a small creak runs past. 5 minute walk to the beach. A beautiful tranquil stay.

This is a great spot to explore Port Arthur and surrounds. A Little steepish but level pads and a lovely big grassed area at the bottom. Amenities are good and clean. Adriana is a lovely person who has great stories of her families beginnings and the history behind this property.

SAME-DAY BOOKINGS MUST BE MADE BY 2 PM THANKS. Total numbers at the site are kept below 45 people for a more peaceful experience. Semaphore Farm is a 400-acre property with convict history, bordering the Port Artur historic site. It is a private timber reserve and a working forest farm. We have a combination of native eucalypt forest and plantation, and we grow hay and our own beef. We have many walking and bike trails through 150 acres of forest and pasture accessible to campers. The campsite has spring water on tap, a hot shower, toilet, rustic camp kitchen, wood stove, gas BBQ, level sites, and a campfire when permitted. Tent sites are flexible so you can choose your own space within a 2-hectare area, while Level pad sites are limited. The Port Arthur Historic Site and a safe swimming beach are within walking distance and Safety Cove and Remarkable Cave are only a 5-minute drive away. Longer walks, including the Three Capes tracks, are easily accessible. Launch your boat nearby to access good fishing or fish for squid off the Port Arthur jetty. There is plenty of wildlife to see at night and birds during the day. You might even see our resident Wedgetail Eagle! Dog-friendly (must be under control/on a lead/contained).

This is a wonderful place to unwind, take a swim with your dog and just hang out with the very special access to the lagoon. There are no amenities here, campers must be self contained and leave no trace. One vehicle per site, only one family group per site! If you have a family or group with more vehicles please book accordingly. I will not accept bookings that do not follow these guidelines. The Craigbourne Dam is a all year round recreational fishing ground and stocks many species of fish i.e. Atlantic Salmon, Brown Trout and Rainbow Trout to name a few. Our property is a pet friendly park but we do ask all patrons to be considerate of the surrounding farmland and live stock . As we are a fully self contained campground we do not provide power, toilets or showers. You'll need to have your own amenities and discard of any rubbish . The property is 380m from the junction of the Lyell Highway and the Gordon River Road. It has 450m absolute river frontage on the River Derwent (no riparian reserve). The river here is freshwater, potable and a renowned trout water, (licence required). Three kilometres from the village of Gretna. 4WD Preferred. 2WD need to assess river access. Campers need all own amenities and leave no trace. Dog friendly but please see rules, we have livestock and so dogs need to be well controlled at all times. Campfires permitted when restrictions aren't in place (see rules around campfires). Due to hydro generation activity, the river may slowly rise or fall up to 1m (often without rain) so please be careful around the water.

Idle Valley

Very private valley nestled between two mountainous sandstone ranges. 3.5 kilometers from Colebrook, via Yarlington road. The property in total size is 37 hectares half of which is gently undulating grassland slopes. These slopes lead to the banks of the beautiful Iles Creek which runs nearly all year round. The western range across the creek includes numerous caves within comfortable walking distance. The highest cave provides magnificent views to the East coast. Camping options include non-designated sites either side of the creek under the huge black-wood trees, restricted to 4-wheel drive vehicles during winter and spring months, with a secluded site with year-round access for all vehicles. At the entrance sits the first of the designated sites, the rest are accessed via the meandering road down 300 or so meters to the camping ground entrance for the other two sites. The last 500-700 meters of Yarlington road leading to the entrance is quite steep. Some two wheel drive vehicles towing large vans have found this challenging, while others haven't. The two main camping areas now have a 'bush loo' in each site. if you wish to use these please use your own paper. Also, now for camper convenience the whole area has access to the campers' lounge and resource shelter. It contains First Aid and snake bite first aid kits. Water is available here. This reconstructed building was once The Campania Scouts and guides, hall.
