Binghi Station
Located approximately 4.5hours from Brisbane, Queensland, or 1.5 hour drive west of Tenterfield, New South Wales. Binghi Station, once a large sheep station, was a thriving tin and gem mine from the late 1800 to mid 1900.
Set on 4,000 acres of natural granite rock country and untouched overgrowth of lush tea tree bushlands, the sheer beauty of the land will, without a doubt, leave you breathless of its raw natural beauty.
Binghi Station surrendered to the ravaging bush fires of 2019, however, after this devastation came some much needed rainfall which brought hope; the creation of new life in the form of rich, vibrant green country not seen since the 1980’s.
You can explore endlessly on this raw outback property. Discover secret hideouts, come and enjoy a swim under our flowing waterfall (for those brave enough to during the winter months!) and simply relax and soak in pure wildlife beneath a million stars in the night sky.
Binghi Station is designed for the 4x4 enthusiasts. In other words we strongly recommend access by 4WD only as the entry 6klm driveway is very rugged and bumpy in most places due to heavy rain fall past 12 months. Please ask for more details if necessary should you have any concerns based on your equipment. Its an ongoing maintenance. Its the 4x4 adventure. We would rather talk it down than up:-)
ps One thing we can say you will never get bogged on our driveway no matter the rain fall as its very compacted despite its authentic rough character.
The Secret Gorge site is suited to tents, camper trailers and smaller length caravans. All our other site locations are suited to off-road 4WD caravans and camper trailers.
Binghi Station - an extraordinary place to make some truly wonderful family memories. :-)
Absolutely loved camping at Binghi station! We stayed at the sheering shed for 3 nights. Visited all the other camp spots which were gorgeous and some of the nicest rock pools I have seen.
Im loath to leave a good review because I dont want people to know how good this campsite is, but the hosts deserve it. It's a proper gem, they are proper gems, it's just a fantastic place to stay.
We stayed at Jump'n Gorge and not only was it excellent fun, but the walk down the creek is incredible.
One of the best I've been to.
Unbelievable location all to ourselves! Drive in (and out) is not for the faint hearted but when you’re there it’s a small slice of paradise! Our kids loved the sheep and Roos and the owner was very friendly and welcoming.
The gorge and waterfall are beautiful, could spend all day there! Can’t wait to come back and spend more time exploring!
If you're looking to disconnect and immerse yourself in nature, Binghi Station Camping is the perfect escape. Nestled off the grid, this spot allows you to truly unwind and enjoy the peaceful serenity of the outdoors. We had an incredible weekend here, with plenty of adventure to keep us busy!
The property is vast, offering endless opportunities for exploration. A real highlight was discovering the secret gorge—what a hidden gem! The trek into the gorge was an unforgettable experience, with a pristine waterhole to cool off in right at your tent sites, and even mini rapids further in. It’s the perfect spot to truly feel immersed in nature.
Whether you're into hiking, swimming, or simply relaxing in a stunning, natural environment, Binghi Station has so much to offer. Highly recommend this spot for anyone seeking an off-grid getaway with plenty of outdoor activities!
