This property is in Northangera with the Mongarlowe River running along the boundary. It's covered in trees and provides a pristine environment amongst the "Scribbly Gums". It has flat areas with plenty of free timber for the designated fire pits. I have tried to create a haven for wildlife including Kangaroos, wombats, echidnas and platypus. I cherish the cleanliness of the river and surrounds and wish to be able to share this special environment with others who care to preserve all it offers. You can explore the property along the tracks, paddle, swim or fish in the river, enjoy the fauna, wildlife and birdlife. Located not far from Braidwood, a town steeped in history, with good shopping, coffee shops and great food. Sloping to flat land amongst the Scribbly Gum trees offering a number of sites and walks through the property. It provides both sun and shade. Access is good for vans of any size along a track through the bushland. Lovely swimming spots in the Mongalowe River, beautiful clear water, and several lovely bushwalks around the property. We offer four sites and the maximum stay is 7 nights.

River Shack
Scribbly gum cabin delivers again
Had a great time once again at scribbly gum shack !! This is the second time we have had the chance to visit the scribbly gum shack and we had a great time this past June long weekend. The host Phil had great communication with us providing good directions and also passing on safety concerns due to high rivers after lots of rain. The large verandah with a big table is a wonderful spot for a morning coffee or having a nice group dinner and there is also a great outdoor fire place for a nice night watching the bush telly under the stars. The cabin is nice and basic with a small kitchen setup with a few basics provided and a nice fireplace to keep warm overnight and enough room to fit four to five people comfortably. Had a great time spotting the wildlife around too, seeing a few Roos, two wombats and many wonderful birds. If there has been rain make sure to wear good footwear as there are a few muddy spots around that can get a bit slippery that would be the only negative I would mention about this site. Would highly recommend this hip camp to anyone looking for a great spot to get back to basics for the weekend and enjoy some nature while still having a cabin to hide away if the weather turns or the cold comes in.

Will Be Back Very Soon 😀
First time using Hip Camp and this place was awesome prefect setting, ticked all the boxes for me. Phil was a great host and communicated with me the whole time leading up to arrival which was interesting due to the down pour of rain. Highly recommend this place it’s quiet and you have privacy. I will be returning with more friends. Thank you Phil

Camping with the dog!
Nice position, with just a short walk down to the river (it was flooded during our stay, because it bucketed down). Phil met us at the river culvert ford to ensure that we got safely into the camp spot. Did I say it was raining. Water drained well off the block and our little pop top van fitted well. Very clean and very quiet. Our dog loved the spot and the off leash was much appreciated, especially by Evie (the dog).

River Shack
New home away from home 🥰
Oh me oh my! 😍 As soon as me and my partner pulled up the track to the river shack, we were smitten! This is the cosiest, well thought out, beautifully crafted little place to stay. The position in the pristine bush alongside the river was just magical! Our two dogs felt like they'd won the lottery and didn't want to leave Host Phil was amazing with communication and supplied us with way more than we expected, making the off grid lifestyle much more comfortable. Close enough to Braidwood for a few little supply trips, and a bite at the bakery if needed. Tip for any future campers mid-year; keep the fire going all night and bring plenty of warm blankets and clothes and mornings and evenings are very frosty. We will be back and we can't wait to experience it in the warmer seasons too! An absolute gem.

Site 2 - Eastern Ridge
Beautiful, peaceful, off-grid campsite. Spacious, well-maintained sites with fire pits, short walk to the river. A perfect way to disconnect for a couple of days. Dogs loved it as much as we did. Host was friendly and stopped in to say hi and directions for getting there and access were very clear. We'll certainly be back. Thanks Phil.
