Located on the bank of the tuscarawas river and nestled in the trees, it is ideal for fishing, camping, tubing, floating, kayaking, and canoeing. Within a very short drive there is many beautiful local wineries and even a brewery. There is some local markets, and small shops nearby. A 36 hole golf corse is just up the road as well as historical locations such as the rumored oldest structure in Ohio and famed roscoe village.
We just had a wonderful weekend camping at Orange Kayak! Keith was great host who we enjoyed talking to and gave great suggestions! Our 28ft camper fit very nicely in a river view spot in the shade. He even had a large kayak event on Saturday with a food truck and live band. Keith was very transparent about what to expect before we booked as far as the site not being quiet that night due to the event, but we didn't mind and ended up joining in the fun, too! Even with everything going on, we still felt like we had some privacy at our site where we could sit back and watch everything. Steps away from the river to enjoy kayaking or fishing. We also really enjoyed Ravens Glen and Rainbow Hills wineries that are just down the road a few minutes! We played a round of golf at River Greens golf course which was a few minutes the other way down the road. It was a quick drive into Coshocton where we enjoyed shopping and lunch at Roscoe Village. With a lot to do within just a few miles of the site, this was the perfect location for our relaxing weekend away and will definitely return!
We had a great time camping at Keith’s property. Simple set up with a great view of the river. Played golf just down the road at a great course, enjoyed floating on the river, and traveling to a nearby brewery. Keith was very nice and helpful.
Keith was the nicest host. We arrived later than expected. He welcomed us with no issue. The property was well kept and the river was a quick 20 second walk from where we spent the night. We have a dually with a 37’ trailer so we didn’t park closer to the water. The gravel was flat and level, the electrical hookup was convenient. We stopped at Loves TC to fill our water tank before we arrived.
If you have a smaller camper than we have or a tent, this would be a perfect spot to stay right along the waters edge. Launch your kayaks or go fishing!
Pros: beautiful location, access to the river for kayaking or swimming. Keith was also very kind and accommodating! There are lots of things to do in the area as well.
Cons: very close to the host's house, and a little pricey for the lack of privacy. I think it would be better time/more private for tent campers.
