We are part of Noosa Hinterland, less than a km to the biggest salt lake in Australia. Walking distance to Apollonian Pub, 2.5km to Cootharaba brewery and bistro.
Lake Cootharaba is at its peak, 4ft deep. It’s at the start of the Everglades, with 40% more bird life than Kakadu.
It’s great for sailing, SUP, kayaking, kite surfing, fishing and swimming. There are wood fired BBQs and picnic seats all along the foreshore. Public showers/toilets too.
Upon coming down Lake Flat Rd, you’ll see 4 letterboxes, turn LEFT here and travel down a private road approx 100mts, you’ll see 1 white bali flag and our Boho Wilderness sign on a SURFBOARD this is CAMP entry.
We have designated camping area, fenced in, with 8 sites, all numbered. You could have a view across open paddocks/dam of our horses and goats. Or the other view of the forest.

Deb's campsite offers a peaceful retreat with plenty of space and opportunities to interact with farm animals like goats and horses. The facilities are clean and well-maintained, featuring conveniences like warm showers and toilets. While most guests appreciate the welcoming atmosphere and Deb's friendly approach, some have noted issues with noise management and fire restrictions. Overall, this site is well-suited for families and those seeking a quiet camping experience close to nature.
Nice location but not great for groups. We weren’t overly loud, but were chastised by the host for talking amongst each other at 10pm. We understand that our voices may have been a bit loud but a simple call or text message would have sufficed, as opposed to the host coming down and shouting at us like children. We were a pretty reasonable group and a simple conversation would have worked.
We were also only informed that we couldn’t light campfires as we pulled into the site, despite it stating that they were allowed on the booking. We thought this was a bit annoying as we would have reconsidered our booking otherwise. When we came back from our getting food alot of the groups around us had lit a fire and after checking there was no fire ban in place, and the local weather, decided to light one.
We were the only group singled out for lighting a fire, and we couldn’t understand the reason we weren’t allowed as the weather was quite mild, and there were no fire bans in place.
Again, this could have been a normal conversation instead of the aggressive rhetoric.
Had a great time here, my daughter absolutely loved feeding the animals each morning. Only 1.5 hour drive to Rainbow Beach not even 5 mins to the lake. Noosa is also close by. Toilet and shower kept clean and tidy.
