We are now opening our lovely hobby farm, which we affectionately call Dragonfly Place Farm Stay, up for folks who enjoy camping and the experiences farm life has to offer. You need to be totally self-contained camping as there are no toilets or showers provided. All rubbish must be taken away by you off the property for proper disposal. Thank you. Dragonfly Place Farm Stay is a 28-acre hobby farm with cattle, horses, chickens, 2 miniature baby goats and a couple sheep arriving shortly. Many moons ago, our property was a dairy farm and we are currently in the process of regenerating our land. We have planted in excess of 70, mostly native, trees this year; part of that is a food forest. We are so looking forward to seeing their growth. Some of what you can expect at Dragonfly Place Farm Stay~ - Feed the chickens - Egg collecting - Feed the cows, horses & goats - Horse patting - Bee hive - Kayaking - Hang out in the Hammocks between the trees - Fishing ~ definitely not for the serious fisher person here, merely child's play and totally kiss and release - Walking (running if you're really keen) - Bird watching - Picnicking -Seasonal Fruit & Nut pickingDragonfly Place Farm Stay is located approximately 7 km from the town of Gympie, we are just off the main road to Tin Can Bay, Rainbow Beach & Inskip Point. We provide an open grassy paddock where you can pick your camp spot. It is reasonably flat and fully fenced so no cows or horses will rub on your van or tent through the night although the local kangaroos or wallabies may visit. Group book bookings are welcome. We have recently planted over 40 trees in this area however they are quite small so there is not a lot of shade, perfect for solar though, byo gazebos are recommended. Guests must be fully self contained with their own toilet/shower facilities and must take all waste with them on departure. Firepits are provided, firewood - sticks & off cuts are stacked in paddock for use once gone we have split hardwood available for $10 per bag. Obviously there will be no fires if there is a declared fire ban in our area (thankfully this rarely happens) Pets welcome however they must be on leash at all times as we have livestock and wildlife on the property. There is plenty of room for kids to run, ride push bikes or kick a ball. Feel free to venture out of the fenced camping area (please always shut the gates behind you) to meet the locals. Go kayaking on the dam or relax in a hammock.

Wonderful spot with the horses and cows coming up to say hello! Our kids thoroughly enjoyed it and loved kayaking in the dam as well. Nice and quiet and would definitely stay here again

Away from noise
Tent
Coming from inner city Brisbane, me and my partner have not been able to escape the never ending noise. Spending new years at dragonfly place farm was one of the most relaxing ways to start the new year for us. The campsite host was very friendly and helpful, being as kind as to drive us to the train station and give us water. Absolutely fantastic experience!

Sylvia was absolutely lovely and there were some cool attractions nearby. Very little shade in the way of trees and quite isolated. Perfect if you're after some proper peace and quiet though.

Beautiful spot! Very welcoming host. Let us in to see the goats and sheep and gave us some spare firewood. Our doggo loved the cows (especially strawberry), and kayaking with us on the dam. Thanks for a wonderful stay!

Family friendly relaxing camp
6 ft travel trailer · With kids
Sylvia was the most welcoming host, her camp is amazing for families and there is plenty of things for the kids to do like kayak on the dam, fish, swim, play volleyball and ride bikes from the wonderful kids toy area. Feeding the animals morning and afternoon was a highlight for the kids. Very easy to locate from the highway, easy access in and out, flat ground for setting up the camper, fire pits and supply of wood. I will definitely be back again for a longer stay. Thank you Sylvia and her team at Dragonfly place camp 🏕
