Property only accepts a single group so you will have it to yourselves. Great views over Girraween and spectacular sunsets from large rock slab expanse adjacent to the campsite. Bush camp accessed by steep 2WD vehicle driveway. Large rock outcrops and granite slabs around campsite. Property is on the edge of Girraween National Park and 5 kms from the park headquarters by road. Local wineries such as Pyramids Road, Balancing Heart Symphony Hill are close by. Private camping area for up to 6 vehicles and associated camper trailers or tents. Caravans and Campervans are unsuitable unless off-road capable. Extensive views available of granite domes in Girraween NP. Campsite has a composting toilet and hot water shower. Dogs are OK as long as they are controlled. Firewood is provided or can be collected nearby. A fire pit is provided and is the only location for open fires.Pitch a tent or setup a camper trailer in an open grassy paddock surrounded by bush, granite slabs and boulder outcrops. Composting toilet, basin and hot water shower available in a small building on site. Lighting at night in toilet building should come on with movement sensor. Use water sparingly. Fires in provided fire pit only please with firewood provided. Please leave enough for the next group. You may need to split logs. Blockbusters are provided. Extensive views over Girraween National Park are available from rock slab adjacent to campsite with views to all major granite domes in the park and Bald Rock NP. Access to hiking and mountain bike tracks into and through Girraween NP are nearby. Underground Creek and Dr Robert’s swimming holes in Girraween are within walking distance. It is a day long return walk to the top of Bald Rock, the second largest rock monolith in Australia. (Map and direction finding needed). Approx 5km to park HQ with the start of the iconic walk to the top of the first pyramid past a swimming hole and rapids over granite slabs. Balancing Heart, Symphony Hill and Pyramids Road Wineries amongst others are close by. Coffee and chocolate can be had at the Chocolate Shop on the road out to Wyberba past NP HQ. Wildlife is plentiful if you are observant. Wombats and Lyrebirds are present and you can often see evidence of them or hear them in the surrounding bush land. Watch your food. Wombats have been known to like Tacos. Grey Kangaroos and red necked Wallabies abound. A special sight are the eastern Wallaroos which used to be common in the area before clearing allowed the grey Kangaroos to invade. The males have a distinctive black coat which makes them easily spotted but are very shy. Their numbers have recovered significantly. You might spot a Wedge Tailed Eagle flying high up and hear the screech of black cockatoos. Spotted Quolls exist in the area and the lower flats are being revegetated to encourage a linkage between private bush land to the east and the National Park to the west. Frogs are in the soaks in the lower flats and are noisy at night or after rain. There are cattle on the adjacent property to the south so gates that are shut must be kept shut. A map of Girraween with suggested walks is mounted at the campsite.

Thanks Andrew for sharing this spot. Private and secluded. Shower and toilet a bonus. The driveway is quite steep but was able to make it up no problems in low range 4WD towing my camper. Short walk up to the rock lookout area and Girraween NP and Stanthorpe both within easy reach.

A very special spot
16 ft pop-up camper · With kids
We loved our stay. It was so special being the only people there. We watched stunning sunsets from the area just behind the campsite. Sat around the fire and watched the sky fill with stars. Went for bushwalks and bike rides. Saw plenty of birds and kangaroos. Listened to the winds roaring above us as we were sheltered by the trees. And enjoyed beautifully clean amenities. Andrew was a very thoughtful host. The entry driveway is steep and the fine gravel slippery, so would recommend 4WD, especially if towing anything.
