170 acres of paradise located in Tarome, just 8 minutes from Aratula and the Cunningham Highway. The campsite is best suited to those chasing a quiet, private area to enjoy the best of nature along with unbelievable mountain views. The property is the home base for a grass fed beef business with a sustainable focus so whilst you will share with some beautiful cows and calves, the secluded(and fenced off!) campsite is private and serene. Tarome offers some of the best views of the Main Range and Cunninghams Gap, all of which you can enjoy from the site. The sunsets here are spectacular.
The Warrill Creek runs through the property, adjacent to the campsite and is home to an abundance of wildlife and vegetation all of which you are welcome to explore. The creek runs seasonally and makes a beautiful swimming area, but is just as enjoyable when dry allowing for a great path to explore the area.
The site is only a short drive off the main road so the property offers an ideal spot for short stopovers, or alternatively use it as a base to explore the rest of the Scenic Rim. The abundance of walking, hiking, fishing or biking opportunities in the area are endless, or if you are more into relaxing into some food tasting and wineries then you’ve hit the jackpot. Just an hour and a half from Brisbane CBD!
In lieu of camping with nature there are no amenities and limited service with some providers, but if you are chasing something in particular please let us know. We are happy to help. By staying with us you are helping a young family achieve our dream of running a sustainable, eco friendly food production business, we genuinely appreciate your support.
Absolutely beautiful spot - very peaceful and scenic. Very professional and descriptive service provided, we will definitely be returning to this camp site. Thank you very much.
Absolute serenity. Loved the location. Kids loved exploring and the creeks were amazing! Such a nice little hideaway for a weekender! Fresh eggs were fantastic also!
The area is a great little spot, with spots with Shade. The creek is not in view of where you camp, but is only a short distance away. If there hasn’t been much rain in the lead up to your stay it would be empty. Lots of flies, but you expect that where there is cattle.
There was some confusion with what we seemed to book, as we booked ‘Camp Ground at capacity’ but there were other campers. I believe it was just a glitch in the system, but if you want to book the whole area I suggest contacting the host to make sure.
This campsite was great for a couple of nights, peaceful & quiet but very hot in January (limited shade). However price paid, the access to the creek is only possible if a track is cut. The track was in need of a re- cut & same with camping area. The creek did have a small swimming hole which was lovely on first day but second day the family were using it & not enough room to share. We were the only ones camping, so same issue would arrive re fellow campers.
Camping area has little shade so better for cooler months. The nights did cool down a little and the sunsets were impressive over the scenic rim.
River was a bit of a walk but deep enough for a swim and play. Only spoilt by other people not keeping their dogs on the lead. Our child has been chased by dogs before and bitten so we had to leave the river because of this. Then the same people had their generator on until after 10pm making it hard to get to sleep with the droning.
Other than that nice spot close to Brisbane. Owners very welcoming and the eggs and firewood were excellent.
Second time here and wont be our last. So quiet and scenic with the views of the range from the nice green grassy campsite, and the amazing Warrill Creek just a short walk away to cool down in the many swimming holes. Brett and Tamika are super friendly and helpfull hosts, with a mowed track to the creek and plentiful firewood delivered when we arrived after adding it to the booking...great value for money and recommend both the wood bundle and this amazing campsite.
