Creature comforts
Enjoy the comforts of home at some sites—including flush toilets, showers, and a kitchen.
Nestled amongst the stunning landscapes of the Southern Flinders Ranges, our bush camp and Canoee’s Realm glamping offer breathtaking views and an immersive experience in native Australian flora and fauna. Enjoy the tranquility of private campsites, each equipped with a fire pit and access to non-potable water, along with the convenience of two full flush toilets.
Ideally located as a hub for exploring the Mid North, you can set off on scenic day trips and return to camp for a sunset dinner by the fire. For those wanting a night off from cooking, the historic Tarcowie Pub is just five minutes down the road, serving cold beers and hearty meals. Whether you’re spotting wildlife at dawn or relaxing under a star-filled sky, this is the perfect escape for nature lovers seeking adventure and tranquility.
Bush campers should come prepared to be self-sufficient. While toilets and non-potable water are available, there are no shower facilities or drinking water provided. However, glampers at Canoee's Realm can enjoy full amenities for a more comfortable stay.

My friends and I really enjoyed camping here, felt very safe and secure within the property and the owners are lovely. there’s a beautiful lookout point a small walk away and perfect to watch the sunset :)
perfect for a quick get away with friends or family
Another perfect stay at heggie's Hill, got to meet Alex and Maddie on the way in, amazing people, such a beautiful property breathtaking views, the toilet is great nice and clean, this is our go to camping spot, best place just to get away from the rat race. Thank you for another great stay.
This was my second time camping here, and I absolutely loved it. The atmosphere is wonderful, the view is stunning, and at night, the stars are so clear. I’ll definitely be back for a third time!🏕️🩷
The location is great with trees and lots of birds. The sites are well set out with fire pit and water. There is firewood available and the toilet is excellent.
Heggies is a very well planned campground, with extraordinary views! Every site has a hose with bore water and a decent firepit amd most are accessible with 2wd and van, in dry weather. Although it is windy as you are on top of a range, there are plenty of sheltered sites if you prefer. Great communication from the host and plenty of firewood if you need it. The groovy flushing loo is a great luxury. The area has lots to see and do, including the local pub only just re-opened and re-furbished this year. We loved Heggies and will definitely be returning.
Heggies Hill is incredible!!
Everything you could want in an off grid site.
Stunning views in amongst beautiful native bush land. Sites were accessible by large vans and really well presented. We stayed with a few other families. Kids had a ball riding around on their pushies!!
The loo is gorgeous and always clean.
Owners are so friendly (highly recommend to ask them if you’re not sure what site, or if in a big group!) and they have made every effort to ensure guests have a great experience at Heggies.
Give yourself at least 4 nights here, a great location with so much to see and do near by. Newly opened Tarcowie pub just down the road is a ripper!
Didn’t stay in the glamping site, but have added it to our bucket list!
