Off-leash friendly
Pets can be off-leash at this Hipcamp.
This little chunk of land is a place that offers peace, solitude and an unplugging from life's hectic pace. Our 9 acre wooded lot is a quiet, secluded, woodsy retreat perched above the beautiful Chippewa River. The shallow river is perfect for wading, tubing or paddling. The undergrowth is a carpet of ferns & native plants. Birders will love this spot. We also encourage bringing your dog friends. We have several fire rings and encourage responsible campfire hangouts. *Please do not bring firewood. We provide dry wood & dead fall may be used for campfire, but ABSOLUTELY NO CUTTING from live trees, please. TENT site: Tent site is pretty basic-- it fits one large tent (12'x15') pad and has a fire ring, a cooking grate and picnic table. While it does not have electricity, there is an outlet on the property to charge phones, etc. BATHROOM: Our well maintained outhouse is a short walk from the tent site, and stays stocked with TP. It also has a solar light for night-time visits. CAMPERS/VANS: We have 30 Amp electric hookup available for small campers! Bring your pop-up or pull-behind. Intermediate trailer-backing skills are necessary to reach the camper site. *Summer /Fall '23 we began building our cabin and trailer access has changed a bit. Please inquire about camper use before booking. *We do not allow hunting, shooting or ATV riding on the property. Archery practice is Ok however. ** As we continue our A-Frame cabin build, you will see some construction clutter and cut trees. We will never be working during your stay, however - you'll have the place to yourself unless otherwise agreed upon. Feel free to view the cabin from the outside but please do not enter the structure.Set your tent at our Walk-In, hilltop, primitive tent site overlooking the Chippewa River. You're sheltered by a canopy of tall trees and thick fern undergrowth. It's a quiet, private spot for a relaxing getaway. *Tent site is a 35 yard walk from the parking area. RV/Trailer Campers can park right on the driveway or parking area and electric hookup is available. **Please Note: During cabin construction, camper use may be limited. We strongly encourage hikes down the hill to the river. A stone fire ring and log bench make a great rustic hangout spot for a campfire meal or post-swim warm up.  We also encourage you to bring your obedient dogs! We're right off a road with low traffic, but we want pets to stay safe, close to owners! We also have neighboring property and want pets to remain on our lot. Chasing wildlife is of course discouraged as well. The river is a great spot to tire out energetic pups!

Woodsy Quiet Camp Spot
Tent · With pets
Such a beautiful property. We went in the fall and got to see the fall colors and let the dogs get some outdoor time. The walk down to the river was also very nice. Nicely campsite with room for our two tents, a fire pit and fire grate, picnic table. Wooded property that feels very private.

Beautiful River Spot
16 ft travel trailer
What a great spot to spend a relaxing weekend! Plenty of acreage on an unbelievably gorgeous river. Camping spots are far from the road, which is also not busy at all. The river was great for wading, and warm enough to swim or float. Will 100% come back here again!

Beautiful, quiet site with just enough clearance to see the stars. T.C. is responsive and very helpful. He even kept an eye on the weather and ensured our safety. Great site, better host!

We had fun camping at T.C.'s. Was really easy to find and had wonderful privacy. Just bring the bug spray, lots of mosquitoes. The dogs loved it too.

Tent · With kids
After seeing the pictures and reading the reviews, figured this place would be great for a single mama with 2 kids. TC was great to communicate with, but I should of backed out when he said not much for hiking. The kids and I love to hike. We get there, walked around to view our surroundings. Tent camp site was too small for our big tent. Uneven ground. Picnic table was a plus but no room for camping chairs, especially with uneven ground. TC did say we could put tent in parking spot but that would of defeated the purpose of being by the fire pit etc. Kids were super excited about the river and in the pics, we saw a sandy spot which sold us because we thought that was right at the property. We followed the yellow signs down to river, trail should be more clear. Got to the fire pit by river but no sand, or spot to be able to walk in or play. A canoe and the river was rushing. Def not a spot where I would feel safe getting 2 kids into a canoe by myself. Outhouse was good but solar lights did not work. Dry wood was appreciated. Overall, not much to do at this camp with 2 kids. My lil man got freaked out at night time cuz he heard "coyote" sounds, and my daughter and I kept hearing an animal rustling around the tent, freaked the kids out and we slept in vehicle. Supposed to be there 2 nights, left next morning. Wasn't what we expected and wasn't right for us.
