Avonbrook Wheatbelt creekside camp

5 sites · RVs, Tents44 acres · West Toodyay, WA
Unfortunately due to the prolonged dry weather the Toodyay Shire has extended any burning 🔥 until May 14th so sorry but no campfires until after that date, apologies, Sarah Our family moved to Toodyay 3 years ago after spending 8 years in Kalgoorlie, we dreamt of space to keep animals and raise our children. Avonbrook is ideal with its yearlong Creek and rocky outcrops for our Dexter cattle and Boer goats. We hope to enjoy for many years to come. We have 3 campsites at the moment, site A is the smaller of them. There are unfortunately a few ants nests around so please be aware and pitch up anywhere around the site thats best, even on the paddock side if suits... thanks, Sarah PS the cows can be naughty and like to chew cords so keep the gate shut to resist temptation! Hope you enjoy your stay on our land. We appreciate it so much as an exchange of services and an amazing contribution towards raising our family thankyou Please no camp-fires during shire restricted periods of 1st Oct till 30 Apr thanks

Everything Horses Ltd

4 sites · RVs, Tents5 acres · Henley Brook, WA
5 beautiful acres in the Swan Valley with horses, we run a horse rehoming charity from here where all proceeds from hipcamp go to support our facility. Along with plenty of horses, you'll also see kangaroos at certain times and our pet sheep Jamima who thinks she's a horse! A superb property with a winter creek and an open paddock where the horses live. It's very peaceful. There are only two camping sites available on this wonderful property at any time so privacy is assured. There is also a dam on the property so please mind any children with absent swimming abilities. Campfires are allowed during the season, and there is a toilet and shower available in the shed 100 meters from the camping area. Smaller groups booking the campsites will have full access to the toilet and shower. Please note, however, we offer a group camping option for larger groups but those booking this option must be fully self-contained as our facilities are not enough to support a large group. We have a strict Leave No Trace policy here, we kindly ask that you take all rubbish with you when you leave. We also ask that you please do not feed the horses. The property is well located to access many great wineries and cafes in the famous Swan Valley area, some within walking distance. Security here is taken care of by Mr security guard "aka" Smoky our pet dog. He's very safe and timid. If you get a pat from this boy I know you're good, so beware! We are dog friendly here, so you're welcome to bring mans best friend and we also have a secure yard to house any pets if you need a break, so long as they don't hassle the horses. We may also be able to accommodate your horse - please discuss this with us prior to booking. We look forward to welcoming you to Everything Horses ltd where you can enjoy one of the last pockets of peace left in the Swan Valley area. We are everythinghorsesltd on Facebook with current uploads to see more of the property and animals here. There is a red cone at the driveway to pull in to where you will be greeted, please leave any gates as you find them. We wish you happy travels campers

One Green Sheep

3 sites · RVs, Tents500 acres · Bindoon, WA
One Green Sheep is a 500 acre working farm north of Bindoon, Western Australia, with beautiful breakaways and valleys, patches of natural vegetation and old stand trees in amongst pockets of cropped land. We are just over an hour from Perth at the very north end of the Darling Range with enormous starry night skies. My husband Kim and I have a strong focus on the environment and sustainability in our every day lifestyle and care for the land. Over the last 10 years we have planted almost 58,000 trees and shrubs successfully establishing wildlife corridors right across the property. We now also have 8 artificial nest tubes to support the Carnabys black cockatoos who return each August to breed. Our intention is to leave the land in a better state than when we first came here and we now want to share the wonderful environment with others, providing a place to get away and recharge as well as get excited about nature and all its wonders. In line with our environmental focus, we ask campers to Leave No Trace. This means you will need to have your own toilet facilities with you, you will need to take all your rubbish away with you and leave your car parked for the duration of your stay. As fallen timber is precious habit for small creatures (it’s not firewood!) you will need to either bring firewood with you, or you can purchase some from us. Dogs are welcome but please keep them with you and don’t let them chase stock or wildlife. You are welcome to bring push bikes, or to explore on foot. We’d love to welcome you to this wonderful ecosystem. You will be camping in an area natural bush that feels a million miles from the city.

The best camping near Yanchep National Park guide

Overview

About

About an hour north of Perth on Indian Ocean Drive, Yanchep National Park offers bush camping close to the beach as well as an abundance of wildlife, nature, and history. Centered around a lake called Loch McNess, there are surprisingly few monsters to be found in the park—just birds, kangaroos, and some of the few koalas in Western Australia. That isn’t to say Yanchep doesn’t have any secrets though. In fact, the Crystal Cave was once an exclusive meeting place for Perth’s rich and famous, who’d stay overnight in the heritage-listed Yanchep Inn. While still a great option for glampers, these days campers prefer the Henry White Oval campgrounds, which are just a stone’s throw from all the park’s sights and a short drive from the crystal-clear waters of Yanchep Lagoon.

Notable campgrounds

  • Best for families: Henry White Oval
  • Best for glampers: Yanchep Inn
  • Best for nature camping: Walyunga National Park

Tips for snagging a campsite

  1. Park stays must be pre-booked online. Reservations can be made up to 180 days in advance via the DPAW booking system.
  2. You can only reserve one campsite per booking. There are 12 grass sites for tents and swags (no generators allowed) and nine tarmac campsites for campervans, camper trailers, caravans, and rooftop tents (generators allowed).
  3. If the campsite is full, campers can also check out the Yanchep Inn, which offers a range of deluxe lake-view or backpacker-style accommodations in the national park.

When to go

Yanchep National Park is open for visitors and campers all year round. Camping is especially popular during the school holidays and weekends in the summer months, so you’ll want to pre-book as far in advance as possible. December to March can be quite hot, while winter is wettest (and coldest), with rain possible between May and October. However, this is also when the banksia woodlands are at their vibrant best—and also means you’ll be able to go bushwalking in peace and snag a chill camping area with just the kangaroos for company.

Know before you go

  • Yanchep National Park is nearly an hour northwest of Perth city center.
  • National park entry fees apply as well as camping fees.
  • The Henry White Oval campground has hot showers, flushing toilets, a gas bbq, dishwashing sink, picnic tables, and a communal fire pit (campfires are only permitted between April and October, depending on yearly burning restrictions). The camping area does not have drinking water.
  • There is an on-site kiosk for snacks, an inn where you can purchase drinks and meals, a gift shop, public barbecues, walking trails, and even a 9-hole golf course. You can also join an Aboriginal tour or private cave exploring tour (must be booked in advance).
  • Yanchep Lagoon is just a 10-minute drive away and the town center has plenty of options for food and drinks as well as any snacks or anything else you need.
