Hurlys Hideaway

Please be careful when using Google maps, for whatever reason it has taken several people to other places other than mine. I posted a picture of the entrance of my property, hopefully this will help. Hurlys Hideaway is a very nice location located approximately 2 miles from the town of Tillamook. Very close to the beach Sand Lake various Rivers for fishing kayaking swimming Etc. Approximately 4 MI from Netarts Oceanside area, Netarts Bay, Cape Mears. A very nice location to be able to access all of these activities in Tillamook County. My land is Timber, some clearings, we'll see how this goes I'm just getting started. Also, I just learned that the transient tax for Tillamook Oregon is an additional 10% and I hate to do this but I'm going to have to raise my prices $5. If you are coming from Town, I'm 2 mi. from the hospital west on hwy. 131. Look for the purple Minnesota Vikings bus shack with the eggs for sale sign. I also put up a hipcamp sign just up my driveway a bit. If you are coming from the south on Fraiser road, turn right when you come to hwy. 131. I'm less than a quarter mile on your left.

Powder Creek Campground

Powder Creek Ranch is 362 acres, nestled into a valley, surrounded by forest in the Oregon Coast Range. The campground is in a secluded meadow next to Powder Creek, a pristine year round stream, perfect for wading and playing in. If you're looking to unplug and escape from the chaos of city life, we are all about peace and quiet and connecting with nature. Each of our 13 extra large campsites offers access to the creek, a picnic table and campfire ring. All sites accommodate RVs as well as tent camping. No hook-ups or potable water available. There are seven (7) creek side sites, one site next to a pond and all have ample space around them so you don't feel crowded. Our newest addition is a cabin overlooking Powder Creek, tucked away by itself. Solar powered. The Ranch has 1/2 mile of Nestucca River frontage where you can swim or fish, whichever floats your boat. Niagara Creek/Pheasant Creek falls is a nearby hiking trail and there are roads as well as deer and elk trails to explore all over the ranch. If you feel like venturing further, the beach is 23 miles away in Pacific City. Tillamook is 25 miles. We also offer pasture raised pork for sale. A variety of sausages (breakfast, chorizo, Italian, Bratwurst and French Garlic links) and pork chops.

There is a motor boat launch in the town of Clatskanie, with access to Columbia River. There is also a launch in the city park for kayaking. The Zen Monastery is just 5 miles away. Long Beach, WA is across the Columbia River via the Astoria Bridge. Lounging about the homestead works too.

My partner and I were lucky enough to purchase it in Oct 2020 and our goal is to bring it to its original beauty and charm with the most up to date amenities. Long Beach Peninsula has been a family vacation destination for a long time and there's so much fun to be had on every inch of land! Located centrally between Leadbetter Point and Cape Disappointment, we have 16 full hookup RV sites (30 amp power/water/septic/Wifi) close enough to enjoy the fun of Long Beach and Ocean Park, but far enough to retreat to your camp for quiet and relaxation. Hang out in the rec room or at a fire pit, play horseshoes or bocce ball with family, or take a short walk down our dune path to watch the sun set on the ocean.

About

Just north of Cannon Beach on a nine-mile stretch of the perpetually windswept Oregon Coast, Ecola State Park offers a mix of viewpoints, wooded hiking trails, and sandy beaches. The most popular spot in the day-use park is Ecola Point, right at the southernmost parking area, which offers fantastic views of the beaches to the south and easy access to miles of trails. A second parking lot sits a bit further north at Indian Beach, where you’ll find picnic tables, a vault toilet, and easy access to the sea and sand.

When to go

Ecola State Park is beautiful no matter when you visit, and even cloudy skies give this stretch of coastline a mystical ambiance. While winter isn’t the most popular time to visit, it is ideal for spotting migrating gray whales. Sunny, rain-free days are ideal for hiking and exploring, and the likelihood of good, clear weather is highest from July through September. Sunsets are particularly enchanting, when oranges and pinks light up the sky and the sun appears to drop into the Pacific Ocean.

Know before you go

Bring layers and raingear. The weather at the Oregon Coast can be unpredictable, and just because it's sunny in Portland or in other inland destinations doesn't mean the same will hold true at Ecola State Park.
While Ecola is a day-use park, there is a small hikers' camp with primitive camping for those hiking on the longer Oregon Coast Trail. However, this camp is designed as a stopover, not a destination.
Parking is free for those with camping receipts from other area state parks.
If you can’t find a parking spot at Ecola, head north to Tillamook Head Trailhead, where there are additional spots.
