Kootenay Born Campsite is on ten acres of fenced in property, with spectacular mountain views. We are located on the west side of the Arrow Lakes and are accessed by a free shuttle ferry service. If you are looking to escape the crowded tourist areas then this is your place. A short stroll from our property is the beautiful Arrow lake. We are surrounded by hiking, biking and ATV trails waiting to be explored. A few miles down the road is Saddle mountain hiking trail, a challenging hike with breathtaking views all the way up. At the top of Saddle Mountain is a look out building with 360 panoramic views that is free to use and has been recently updated. A short walk or bike ride from the camp site, through old growth cedar groves and orchard will lead you to Arrow Lake where you can enjoy all types of water activities or take a walk to explore many of the areas private beaches. We have kayaks and a SUP board for our guest to enjoy and explore our many secluded, sandy beach spots. Please come and enjoy our beautiful wilderness. It's a whole other world over here.....
We enjoyed our stay in the tiny house on Michelle and John's land. The owners are available for questions and they are very nice. We felt safe and we had everything we needed, booked only one night but we plan on coming back during the summer to hike the trails and go to the lake. The Nakusp hot springs are only 15 minutes away, and we went hiking there and on our way back through Revelstoke. Nice place!
John and Michelle were accommodating and very welcoming. They have a beautiful property and we had the luxury of going on a guided hike with John. Would stay again and recommend to friends!
Beautiful place to camp and so, so quiet! I loved going for a walk along the beach - you have to check it out as it's absolutely stunning down there.
I will be back. :)
We really enjoyed our stay at John and Michelle’s campground. We stayed in the new tiny home. It came with everything we needed for an overnight stay and we enjoyed the beautiful views. Great place to stay!
Everything was absolutely amazing! Michelle was so helpful and the best host. The views and beach are spectacular. The kitchen, outhouse and shower house were all very well kept. And the site itself (shady rock) was just wonderful. We loved every minute of our stay and will be making a yearly trip to stay at Kootenay Born. I truly cannot say enough good things about this place.
