Please note that there are no amenities available at the campsite. Campers will need to have a self-contained vehicle and leave no trace. We are dog friendly and request that dogs remain under their owner's control at all times and on leash. We do not allow campfires as our home burned down last year in the McDougal Creek fire as well as a lot of the neighbourhood so we don’t allow any fires or smoking cigarettes on the property. We will be building our new home during the summer but the build is a bit away from where the sites are so it shouldn’t be an issue. But this is forwarded as we know that this is a priority for us as so we won’t stop building even if we have campers, so we just want everyone to know this in advance! Shuswap River Oasis

Guests will get to wake up to the sounds of the Shuswap River flowing right outside their campsite. Sandy shaded kids play area with a kids swing, 2 person snowboard swing and a trampoline. A net and hammock for all your chilling needs. Load to explore around the property, including an island on the Shuswap River. Launch your floaties and spend the afternoon floating down the picturesque river, but please bear in mind the river conditions vary throughout the year. The 8KM river float is an intermediate level float and may not be suitable for young kids as there is a section that needs to be walked to avoid a dangerous area. There is other options for shorter floats upstream and end at our property. Please ask us for more details. We also have a field to ride any quads or dirt-bikes around. Its very basic riding conditions, but still fun for young kids! As well there is lots to see in the area including 2 waterfalls and Mable lake provincial park all within an hour drive. Tangle Wood

Nestled in the woods, our site provides a shady escape from the 30-40 degrees Celcius summer Okanagan heat. Cross the bridge into your own private Oasis. Trees are shelter and homes to various birds. Pitch your tent in an open space at the base of the mountain. Relax on the deck of our Cottage or in the hammock and take in the fresh air whilst listening to the song birds. Located off Highway 6, a 10 minute drive to colourful Kalamalka Lake which boasts of sandy beaches and gorgeous hikes, and a 6 minute drive to beautiful Lavington Park with a playground, off leash dog park and free public swimming pool access during July and August. Walk down the path to your own private creek access, bring a book and relax in a chair by the water and take a dip in the refreshing creek. Note: This site is not accessible by car. You will need to park in front of the bridge, wagons are provided. If lots of rain is forecasted please bring tarps, there are plenty of trees nearby to devote too. There is a powered covered cooking/eating area. You may use the bbq and gas burners at no charge. Drinking and potable water is provided. This site uses a composting toilet with bags that will need to be removed after use and disposed in the appropriate location.

Overview

About

Echo Lake Provincial Park has a small, lakeside day use area for picnics, sunbathing, swimming and shoreline fishing. Please note there are no facilities at the day use area and overnight camping and campfires are not permitted. It is accessed by parking on roadside pullouts and walking in.

The private Echo Lake Resort is located lakefront in the park and offers 7 rustic Cabins plus 18 campsites with some services. The resort offers fishing boat and watercraft rentals, operates a small store and boat launch for a fee. Please note, there is no public day use area at the resort, facilities are for registered guests and public boat launch parking is limited.

Other options for private camping and cabin stays are available in the surrounding area. Echo Lake Provincial Park is the traditional territory of the Splatsin people.

When to go

Echo Lake Provincial Park is open year-round. The best weather for swimming is from July to September. Echo Lake Resort and the nearby Cozy Cabins Resort are open mid-May to September.

Know before you go

The park has no facilities and no formal parking lot. Parking is found in the pulloffs at the side of the road or at Echo Lake Resort.
Camping outside of designated private resorts is not permitted.
The nearest town of Lumby is 22 kilometres from the lake.
