Cool Creek Farm materialized in December 2017 after years of envisioning. It is now enthusiastically gardened and provides abundant, free-roaming living space to humans, 3 cats, 20+ chickens, goats, sheep, ducks and horses. We also run day camps for children from June-August, provide horse lessons, training and boarding as well as special event space. People have universally exclaimed how beautiful and peaceful the farm is when they arrive. We look forward to sharing the restorative vibe with you as well!Guests have a private entrance to their bedroom, sitting room and full lux bathroom. The rooms comprise the entire east wing of the house on the main floor. There is a solid, floor to ceiling privacy curtain in the hallway to separate guest from host space. We are "out in the country" but your rooms are crisp and stylish and functional. Hard wood and tile floors throughout.  The spacious and modern bathroom with shower/tub combo has plenty of counter space. The sitting-room has a mini-fridge, small toaster oven, french press and electric teapot, along with basic food prep/eating supplies.  The sitting room also has a single pull-out couch to accommodate two guests desiring separate sleep areas or a third guest. This listing is suitable only for those 12 years and older. Guests can enjoy pasture and garden views sitting on the front porch and can use the bonfire/picnic and arena area as well which is perfect for the big games we have on-hand and star-gazing! Convenient parking is provided right beside the house. All of our bedding and towels are machine-washed and line dried in the sun, so they may feel a bit different to you. Natural, scent-free laundry and cleaning products are used in the space.  We use central heat but no AC at any time, preferring open windows and fans.   The 14-acre farm is located just minutes from Shakori Hills Community Arts Center which hosts many live musical events throughout the year. Unique farm to fork restaurants and live music venues abound in the area. Road biking is also popular in the area immediately surrounding the farm. Mountain biking trails are available within 15 minutes. The farm is convenient to Pittsboro, Saxapahaw and Chapel Hill. Come and go whenever you please, but when in the space, we ask that complete quiet hours from 10:30pm to 6:30am be strictly respected as it is a shared household. We can accommodate boat trailers if you know how to back up with a trailer ;) Additionally, the farm is expansive with plenty of parking and inviting spaces around the fire pit and arena. If you want to have a larger outdoor gathering of family/friends during your stay, please ask for details.

Wonderful
With kids
We stayed in the barn loft. Nice property with fire pit, water, and more. There is a fan in the loft for hot sleepers. Protected from the elements. Hosts were very accomodating, present but not intrusive. Close to Lake Jordan. We hope to be back.

Barn goes crazy
Surprisingly SUPER comfortable! I was just hoping for a roof over my head but I was blow away with the clean maintenance and privacy I felt. Would go back 10/10

I loved the stay with my 2 boys. It was a perfect boys trip. Peaceful surroundings, a lot of farm animals, a giant swing they loved, outdoor games like Jenga, Bocce etc. The weather wasn't super accommodating but we still had a great time.

Tent · With kids
There was a lot of space for us to do activities: Fly balsam wood airplanes, have a campfire, swing on a big 2 person swing, play with clay, and we did even more. Our grandkids learned about chickens and goats and loved both. The chickens were around the property all day and our kids learned how chickens lay eggs and what chickens eat. It was a great education for city kids. We had a small camper and a tent we set up to sleep in.

The barn loft was just what I needed. It was clean and dry, and I didn’t need to pack a tent on the airplane. The farm is beautiful, and nearby Pittsboro is a cute town. Check out “The Plant.”

Melissa gave clear instructions on how to access the loft and it was the perfect, safe place to sleep that we were looking for. We arrived late and left early but in the time we were there enjoyed seeing all of the chickens, goats, and horses that were on the property.
