The Bennetts Point 31 is a serene and scenic camping spot nestled in the heart of the ACE Basin, South Carolina. Surrounded by rich wildlife, tidal creeks, and lush marshlands, this peaceful spot offers visitors the perfect retreat to enjoy nature. Ideal for fishing, kayaking, and wildlife watching, the campground provides a quiet escape with easy access to the stunning beauty of the Lowcountry. Whether you're looking to camp under the stars or explore the diverse ecosystem, Bennetts Point 31 offers a unique and tranquil experience in one of the region’s most pristine natural areas. An incredible marsh front oasis. Beautiful sunsets, sunrises, and stars as far as the eye can see. A plethora of wildlife can be seen here. Don’t get too close to the pond, our resident alligator (Allen) is close to 9’ long! We also have active honeybee hives. Fireflies can be seen during the summer months. Bug spray is highly encouraged during warmer months. Due to the absence of light pollution many long exposure milky way pictures have been taken! The Palm Corner Campsite is a flat grassy space on the southeast corner of the Bennetts Point 31. Guests will enjoy marsh front privacy overlooking the Ashepoo River. There are no hookups at this site, but water and power are available at the bath house. The communal bath house which includes a toilet, vanity, and a shower is available.

Peaceful solitude

The site was nice and peaceful. The views of the marsh and river during sunset were to die for. The bathhouse was beautiful and well maintained. Can't wait to experience fall and winter camping here as well. Palm Corner is now on my list of favorite spots and I will definitely be returning again. Highly recommend.

I really enjoyed my stay here. This is a very unique property with views of the marsh and Ashepoo river. It was very quiet and peaceful, the only sounds I heard were birds and a few airplanes. Bathroom /shower was very nice, Lots of areas close by for fishing/hiking/birdwatching. If you want to venture out, Bear Island Wildlife Management area is a few minutes down the road, and Botany Bay and Edisto Beach are about an hour drive. B&B seafood market, just a miles away, is a great place to pick up fresh shrimp and fish to cook at the campsite. Jonathan was great and I highly recommend his land to anyone looking to stay in the area.

Secluded, scenic, great bathroom!

Exceptional camping spot! Epically scenic and open, yet just enough coverage for a wind break. The bathroom is far above and beyond any camping expectations. Friendly and helpful host also.

The Hipcamp description of Bennetts Point - 31 is spot on and this is a site we will be returning to on our next birding trip to the ACE Basin. We had been looking for a camping area that was near the places we wanted to visit, and this site was perfect. It is only 6 miles to Bear Island WMA, 16 miles to Donnelly WMA, and not too much further from other noted birding spots in the area. On top of that it was a great place to stay when we were not out-and-about. Biting insects could be an issue to dealt with in warmer weather, but we were there when it was cold, at least during the evening. Jonathan, the host, seems to be booking only one person or group at a time, and we had the entire area to ourselves. Although there are few homes along the dirt road to the site, the area itself is private and exceptionally quiet. The camp site sits along the edge of a large marsh with great views of the sunset. Much of the area immediately behind the camp site is being cleared but there is a wooded area and pond on the property. It was great to discover that there are some cleared paths through the woods with access to the pond edge and we enjoyed walks around the area while at camp. On top of that we greatly appreciated having access on site to a really nice bathhouse with a shower, flush toilet, sink, and hot water. Overall, we had a pleasant stay and will likely be returning next year.
