The Hipcamp description of Bennetts Point - 31 is spot on and this is a site we will be returning to on our next birding trip to the ACE Basin. We had been looking for a camping area that was near the places we wanted to visit, and this site was perfect. It is only 6 miles to Bear Island WMA, 16 miles to Donnelly WMA, and not too much further from other noted birding spots in the area. On top of that it was a great place to stay when we were not out-and-about. Biting insects could be an issue to dealt with in warmer weather, but we were there when it was cold, at least during the evening. Jonathan, the host, seems to be booking only one person or group at a time, and we had the entire area to ourselves. Although there are few homes along the dirt road to the site, the area itself is private and exceptionally quiet. The camp site sits along the edge of a large marsh with great views of the sunset. Much of the area immediately behind the camp site is being cleared but there is a wooded area and pond on the property. It was great to discover that there are some cleared paths through the woods with access to the pond edge and we enjoyed walks around the area while at camp. On top of that we greatly appreciated having access on site to a really nice bathhouse with a shower, flush toilet, sink, and hot water. Overall, we had a pleasant stay and will likely be returning next year.
