Dun Tun is a 5-acre working smallhold we are assisting back to a healthier level. We have animals, plants and people contributing to improving the soil and biodiversity. You may see our meadows high and full of wildflowers or cut short for our animal's benefit. Both make for excellent views from our campsites.
We've built a new shelter for the compartment toilet for added privacy and weather protection in 2024!
We are expanding our farm stand, in addition to eggs you will now find seasonal produce, firewood when fires are permitted and souvenirs made by folks who live and work on our farm.
Both campsites are unimproved spots in our future silvopasture food forest. Located on the "back four" acres of our property, they're surrounded by trees and seclusion. We back to a small airport and are near a main road and you will probably hear traffic. Both campsites have trees and space protecting them from views of people or development. We improved our road in 2022 so bring your vehicle with no worries.
We're just outside of the busy part of Port Townsend and close to farms, beaches and historic sites. Go into town for festivals, restaurants and the farmer's market. Chimacum, just two miles away, has several nice restaurants, breweries and farms that offer tours. We're two miles from restaurants, hardware stores and a grocery store in Port Hadlock.
We're just 45 minutes from Olympic National Park and 2 hours to the Olympic Peninsula Coast so we're a great stop over.

This campsite offers a private and peaceful escape, perfect for those seeking solitude in nature. Many guests appreciated the well-maintained spaces, noting the ease of access and the charm of the surroundings. While some mentioned minor inconveniences like the toilet setup, the overall experience remains positive, with visitors enjoying the proximity to Port Townsend and the scenic beauty. The presence of farm animals adds a unique touch to the stay, making it a memorable spot for a quiet retreat.
I loved seeing the animals and being on this beautiful land. It was simple to get to and a lovely stay! A great place for easily getting into town and back. Best outdoor toilet!! Would definitely stay here again.
It was as described! Great if for when you need a spot to stay, and close to Port Townsend. Only for recommendation for host is that it'd be superb if the street number was easier to spot, but readers shouldn't think this was hard to find -- it just could've been easier.
Overall I loved the site, but didn't get great sleep. It was comfy, grassy, and felt secluded. The airport and road noise wasn't bad - a distant hum. I'm a "maybe" on if I would rebook because there was some bizarre music late at night (I'm guessing from the nearby drive-in theatre that was showing Beetlejuice?). It was just loud enough that it was difficult to sleep, and just late enough to make me grumpy (past 10pm).
Easy to find and very spacious and nicely maintained. Loved the site.
My only gripe is that the bathroom was not my favorite. While the structure was clean and stocked, the portable toilet wasn’t that clean and so low to the ground some people might have issues. Really, a honey bucket or a pit toilet would be a huge improvement.
