1 night at Bredon-Vale Caravan and Camping

Just what I needed! A peaceful retreat with a wonderful view. The caravan was beautifully presented with everything I needed to be cosy for the night and cool for the day. Thank you for making me feel welcome

Fantastic spot. Great scenery, lovely walking tracks and all felt very private. Charlotte was very lovely and helpful when we arrived to show us around the site and all the useful bits in the shed.

Amazingly relaxing break. Lovely site with wonderful walks through the woods and across the nearby fields. Very peaceful and quiet site. The night sky was mesmerising. Compost toilets were clean, though a little cramped. Two portable toilet pods arrived on the second day and we're much appreciated. Cold water washing up facilities were very handy. Host was very friendly and helpful. Definitely recommend the site for a relaxing get away.

Thank you Charlie for a lovely stay. The plot was very well located, and amenities excellent. We enjoyed a lovely walk and coffee before heading home. There is a pub nearby, which was walkable and good. The only thing we weren’t so keen on was the sound from the clay pigeon shooting next door in the morning! But would definitely come back!

I didn't stay into the main field but in one right at the foothills of the South Downs Way accessible by a gravel road. The directions on hipcamp weren't the best but Miles kindly came out and met me. I wish it was possible to add a photo to the review as the views were really stunning. Ideal if your set up for wild camping with a rooftop tent.

We had a fantastic stay at this campsite in Petersfield, despite arriving much later than planned due to an accident on the way. John was incredibly helpful and patient, welcoming us with a smile even though it was late, raining, and very muddy! The location is great, with lovely views, and Charlotte and John have thoughtfully provided everything you might need for a comfortable stay. Even in wet weather, it was a great spot—peaceful and well set up. We’re looking forward to coming back when the sun is shining!

Weekend Trip to Cattlestone Farm Adult Only

The farm was very easy to get to, and Donna and her husband were extremely communicative and welcoming. The cabin itself was an utter delight and more than I would've expected, both in terms of amenities available, and the quality therein. Very easy to both cook on site and enjoy the farm itself, and to head out into the countryside. Plus the cows were such a special treat to see!

Weekend Trip to Spring Hill Wild Camping

Great, basic camping within 10min walk of a pub, and open in winter. No showers, but compost loos. No running water in January as it is powered by solar, but luckily we brought some water. Firewood was supplied for £5 a bucket, and the pitches are equipped with fire pits. Alpacas are very cute!

Lovely wild camping spot, nice view and completely remote. Charlotte is an absolute Diamond and couldn’t be more helpful, we had a great stay and will definitely stay again. A couple of pubs are not too far away and do nice food and beer for those not completely roughing it.

I loved tent camping on Charlotte land, so quiet and beautiful views. The ponies are friendly and I really appreciated the firewood and fire pit. Being the only person there was the closest to wild camping as I could be without wild camping! I’d definitely go back when the days are longer and I could enjoy the land and views even more. Unfortunately I haven't seen the host but the place is beautiful. Be careful the last few meters are hard to make with a 2 weel drive. Spectacular place with toilets and camping accomodation like tables and benches. I would certainly recommend it to any campers.

Stayed for 2 nights in a tent. Sue was very accommodating, even driving us to the co-op to get some logs for our fire pit. Would recommend going here on a Friday night for a weekend trip out of London.

Unloading is allowed by the pitches with parking in the designated car park. Wake up to fantastic rural views and grab a bite to eat from the onsite cafe, which also serves a delicious cup of coffee. Days can be spent enjoying long walks in beautiful open countryside, exploring the charming nearby towns and villages, or down by the coast, only 25 minutes away. In the evenings, guests can cook up a BBQ or relax by the campfire. Please note, the site is dog free.

Where to go

Dunstable

In the northeast of the AONB, this market town and its chalky downs are often referred to as the Gateway to the Chilterns. Featured on both the Icknield Way Path and Chiltern Way, the region is a rambler’s paradise, while Whipsnade Zoo, a Neolithic burial site, and ideal windsport conditions provide plenty more for Hipcampers to see and do. High Wycombe

A major network hub nestled in the midst of the Chilterns, High Wycombe can be reached from London Marylebone in just 30 minutes, making it a great destination for weekends away from the city. Berkhamsted
