Learn more about this land: Both sites are located in beautiful Huntington, VT on the occupied lands of the Abenaki/Wabanaki. Texas Hill Brook camp site The Texas Hill Brook site is a flat, wooded campsite on Texas Hill Brook in Huntington. The campsite is roughly 10m x 30m (30' x 100'), large enough for several tents or a small camper/RV. It is accessed by a sloped 50m (about 150') gravel driveway. The narrowest part of the driveway is 2.6m (about 8.5 feet). There is a 3m x 3m (10' x 10') tent platform and a large picnic table. Firewood is provided. Near our home about 120m/400 feet away through the trees but relatively private. Within a short pedal or drive to some of the best mountain biking and hiking Vermont has to offer, 15 minutes to Richmond and Hinesburg, and just a half hour to Burlington. Electricity on site, primitive fire pit, but no other facilities, so ALL waste must be packed out. We have a bucket commode to loan if you don’t have your own. Dark Star Cabin Dark Star is the perfect base camp for your northern Vermont hiking and biking adventures! Comfortable accommodations for 6 in a solar powered cabin. Located in Huntington close to some of Vermont’s best trails, Dark Star is a short hike (less than a mile) from a private, secure parking area. The hike is not difficult, but ground is uneven, some of it is uphill, and it may be wet. Note that this property is HIKE-IN ONLY and pack in/pack out (i.e. you will need to pack out all trash, etc.). Unwind in the wood-fired sauna, lounge on the deck under the stars, sharing stories of your escapades and planning the next day’s adventures. Pull-out queen sofa bed on the main floor plus 2 full size beds in the loft. Pillows are provided but bring your own linens. Outdoor shower, WiFi, water filtration system, grill, small refrigerator/freezer, composting toilet, and many other amenities for a comfortable stay.

This was my first time using Hipcamp and Julia made it super memorable and easy. I would definitely camp here again, Julia and her husband were such great hosts. They lit up the fire pit for us before we arrived. They provided us with everything we needed especially camping in the winter time. Also communication 10/10, it was hard trying to find the site at first, I texted Julia and she guided how to get there.

Great quiet spot on the river with a large fire pit. We slept to the sounds of the river, perfect! And there’s an electrical outlet to use!

Stunning Cabin
The hike to the cabin is formidable, about 45min, and was quite challenging while carrying your belongings. We came 40min before sunset and HIGHLY recommend coming way sooner to make the journey as painless as possible. That being said once you arrive the cabin is absolutely stunning! They have provided you with just about anything you could need and we absolutely enjoyed every second of our stay. As mentioned before there is another yurt a few hundred feet away but far enough to still feel private. If you’re looking for an authentic cabin experience you can’t do much better than this!

Nice
It's a nice spot. Never did meet the hosts but they were responsive to my questions via text for the most part. Nice quiet private spot by a stream with electric hookup.

Super chill place between Burlington and camels hump. Pleasantly fell asleep to the sound of the water running adjacent to the site both nights

This is a beautiful, large campsite with many great amenities. < 30 mins from Camel Hump and < 1 hr from Stowe. The hosts went out of their way to ensure our large group had a comfortable stay.
