From the flat land at the bottom to the top of the mountain, this is a place where you can find a spot to sit and think, draw, paint, nap, or identify over 30 medicinal plants in their natural habitats (absolutely NO harvesting of medicinals or wildflowers!). Listen to the many birds, spot the wildflowers.
Some areas are accessible by wheelchair, while others are not, but all areas offer something to sustain your spirit.
If you feel the need to explore the area, you are within walking distance of NotaViva Farm Brewery and Winery, 15 dirt road minutes from the new Sweet Run State Park one direction and Breaux Vineyard in the other direction. The Appalachian Trail is just over the top of the mountain and Harpers Ferry National Park is down the road and over the Shenandoah River.
We might be a teeny bit biased, but we think this is area of northwest Loudoun County, VA is one of the loveliest places in the world.
This was a perfect campsite for us - quiet and private and among the trees. It was a short walk to a local brewery which we enjoyed. Definitely recommend.
Camping on Dee’s land was fantastic! We were able to set up camp in the woods anywhere within her property lines, and the hike from the parking area to the peak only took a couple minutes.
She provided us with a jug of water and a grill, and took the time to meet us at the site to tell us about her land and get to know us a little.
Our stay was really peaceful and we’ll definitely be back in the future :)
It’s really quiet and peaceful out here. In the middle of nowhere but also nearby a city. Dee D is super nice, laid back and friendly. She only does one camper at a time so you basically have the lower half of her property to yourself for the night. Would stay here again !
Host was very inviting. Land was quaint and quiet. I enjoyed staying here, and would come back.
