The Firefly is nestled between the trees, on the loud, rushing creek, on a five acre property that is mostly cleared and on a hard surface dead end rd, just a few miles from Hillsville, Va. The firefly is comfortable for a small family or a romantic get away for couples. The creek is loud and stocked with trout, with easy access along the creek, perfect for wading, floating, and relaxing to the noise. Firefly has a camp style charcoal grill, a firepit with lots of firewood, a wood pellet stove on the covered deck for grilling when its rainy outside, a wood pellet fireplace for heat, outside shower with hot water, a comfy queen size memory foam bed, fresh linens and towels, and an outside bathtub situated by the creek. it has running water and a composting toilet and there is an unattached bathhouse with a conventional toilet and an outside shower as well. The FireFly is pet friendly and please leave $25 on the counter for the pet fee. If there is freezing temperatures, There will be no water, but if the temps are well above freezing the running water is there.The Firefly is situated on a large creek bank, nestled between the trees, near Hillsville, Virginia. There is running potable water, hot and cold, power, and most of the five acres is cleared except for trees along the creek bank. There is a soaking tub by the creek, a wood pellet grill under the covered deck, and an outside shower. The bathroom has a compostable toilet and sink with hot/cold water, and the kitchen has hot/cold water, fridge, coffee maker with local coffees, creamer and sugar. There are grilling tools for the outdoorsman chef with a charcoal grill and a wood pellet grill or you can drive five miles to various dining in Hillsville. This spot is very quiet, private, and is convenient to town. The creek is stocked from Sept-May with rainbow, brown, and brook trout.

Very good camp site! Very warm in the winter with the stove and the space heaters. Nice to have access to running water as well as a stove. For those seeking complete privacy, there is a driveway at the top of the hill where you are visible from the campfire area but not from the front porch. Lots of great kitchen amenities provided! Would recommend

We Loved the Firefly!

My husband and I had the absolute best time at the Firefly. I can not recommend this campsite enough! The accomodations are fantastic, even though the composting toilet took some getting used to but for those not wanting, there is a normal toilet on the property you can use. The location is secluded enough and beautiful to see all the stars at night but also still close by to stores for any last minute things you might need. The sounds of the creek is beautiful and relaxing the entire time. Jodee was also super quick to reply to me when I had questions and often check up on us to make sure we stayed warm and had what we needed. It was a great way to spend our anniversary with our dogs. I'll be staying here again and you should too!

Our stay was amazing!! The owner responded very quickly to every question we had. The place is so beautiful in person. Everything was well stocked with everything we needed and more! We will be back.
