We have 7+ very private acres along the North Fork of the Shenandoah River, which has been in our family for over 50 years and where we currently live. You will arrive at our house, and the campsite is approximately 150 yds down the river trail. The campsite is completely private from our house. There’s great fishing, hiking, kayaking and canoeing from the property and also plenty more nearby. We’re only a few miles outside of Strasburg which offers great antique shops, dining, and a brewery with live music on weekends. Three night maximum permitted. We prefer that guests arrive before dark. **Note that the North Fork is a shallow river with a slate bottom. If you plan to wade, fish or swim in the river, you may want to bring some sturdy shoes to wear in the river.Pitch your tent on a large 11x12’ platform only a few feet from the North Fork of the Shenandoah River. Enjoy peace and quiet, great fishing, kayaking and tubing, or just playing in the river. Complete privacy while camping, with small extra fees for use of our outdoor shower, kayaks and/or a shuttle up river (information on site). **Campers are asked to arrive before dark

Being right on the river was awesome and so private! Great fishing/paddling spots, birds everywhere, nice little hike to the waterfall and just a perfect spot to relax and soak in the beautiful scenery. John and Mary were very welcoming and gracious hosts. Would definitely go back!

Top notch camping
Tent
What a magical view to wakeup to. We loved the perspective of the river's bend and the very kind hosts Mary and John who provided that for us. The proximity to the flowing river provides tranquil sleep sounds of gentle rolling water without the typical use of downloading an app. Highly recommend and will definitely keep in mind for future adventures. Happy camping!

Heaven Valley

The property is absolutely gorgeous and the hosts were wonderful. The dogs were the very best of company, and the stars are all there. It was a wonderful stay with fun extras like kayaking and hot coffee, clean site, awesome shower, and little waterfalls all over. Beautiful bluebells and daffodils. But the drive in at sunset was a view I’m likely unable to recreate in my lifetime. My friend and I will forever call this place Heaven Valley. A little steep on the walk down, but they provide a wagon which made it easy peasy.

This spot really is something else! Some of the best hospitality I’ve experienced and such a beautiful place to camp, if only i brought a fishing pole and I had more time to spend here ! Thank you!

Our hosts were extremely welcoming and made us feel right at home on their property. The location is perfect with easy access to multiple trails and the river. Pretty easy to get there it’s only about 10 minutes off the main road and you park fairly close to the site where you’ll be putting up your tent. The site its self is nice and secluded down in the valley adjacent to the river but still close to the fire pit with chairs and a great view of the valley. All in all I would definitely recommend this trip was great and we really had fun !

Me and my boyfriend just came back for our second trip and we absolutely love this spot! We are the type of campers that love to just hang out in the woods and lay around and this site is absolutely perfect for that. Good privacy, gorgeous waterfall within a short walk, amazing river access, plus some awesome hosts!
